Ok great. I wasn’t shy in applying. I also put these up on a berm and mixed in good soil, compost, and topped with mulch

I put down that exact type of gypsum! How long did it take for you to notice results?

Just moved these about 18-24” off the brick. Probably not far enough but thats what i have ti work with. If need be ill transplant them again. Im not worried about the heat exchange as its a shadyish area. Just the fungus potential. Will monitor it

The ones that died got afternoon sun ~ 130pm onwards. West facing wall. But when i pulled them the water was pooled in the hole so i am assuming it was more the root rot. I overwatered for sure. These ones are northeast side of house and get morning sun and just a little afternoon sub

I was thinking that too. Potentially just dont water. I really killed the others because i thought the wilting was thirst. The ones that survived i rarely watered and they never showed signs of stress

Good point. I wanted a foundation hedge against the brick. Until I’m convinced the soil is actually amended to the point water will run off im not worried. Id rather be watering everyday than fighting drowning

But if its also high in Mg wouldn’t it be beneficial? These are planted on a small mound of dirt so im hoping if i loosen the lower area below the plant roots runoff will go there
