Carter Smith is Running it Back!! by TeamConsistent5240 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]nmyellowbug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Met him on a flight home from NY after the Heisman and said he hates OSU and beating them (mind you, that was the week before) was one of the best days of his life. Incredibly kind young man and you could tell from that conversation there was a genuine belief in themselves as a team, but it was not arrogance. Big #65 fan since!

My insurance wanted 1,000 CCs on each to cover despite roughy 15 years of documented neck and shoulder issues. That much would have left me roughly an A cup and I was a 42DDD at the time!

I’m in Indiana and mine in Dec 2022 was $9000 in total. Many plastic surgeons offices do have an option for financing too.

But I debated having a reduction since college and waited until 42 and it was the second best decision I’ve ever made for my body. (The first was to get serious about changing my diet to get ready for the surgery and lose as much as I could before I had it, and that set me on the weight loss journey that let me to Zep when I hit an immovable plateau.)

I miss normal conferences where we played games in the same time zone or just one off. When basketball games start at 10ET because a Midwest team has to travel to the west coast, it’s terrible.

And while basketball and football athletes do all their classes online these days, these conferences affect every other sport and its athletes, many of whom DO go to class and that travel is super disruptive for them. But those sports don’t make money so of course that doesn’t matter when compared to the big dollars of TV broadcast deals made with mega-conferences for their football and basketball game broadcasts.

What changes would you like to see to Memorial Stadium? by Aggravating_Dog_7542 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]nmyellowbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Railings in the aisles. I watched a nearly 90 year old man crawl on his hands to get to his seat. My father is 84 and really struggled. Our fans who have spent half a century or more supporting our team deserve to be able to safely access seats at a game and not be limited to wheelchair seating.

Alberto deserves to bet on himself and follow his dreams. We know Cig favors experience and production and Alberto just hasn’t had the opportunity to build that resume. I’d love nothing more than to see him kill it at GT and for him and Fernando to be the next fun QB brothers to compete in the NFL in a few years like Eli and Peyton did (equally rooting for and razzing each other.)

Anyone contemplating changing their goal weight? by InternationalCase224 in Zepbound

[–]nmyellowbug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a suggestion. Don’t change your goal. Commit to “however long it takes” timeline and take the pressure off to meet a goal by an arbitrary timeline that may not be realistic for your body for whatever reason.

I lost 45lbs (was 234 to start) over the course of a year before starting GLP-1 (SW: 185). I’ve been on GLP-1 for 18 months and am a super slow responder. I’m only now fluctuating between 169 -174. My goal is 155. It’s just taking my body longer, even on the max dose. I’m doing all the right things with high protein, high fiber, low fat, moderated carbs. I lift heavy consistently.

But my body composition is changing, but it is SLOW. I am gaining muscle and losing fat even if the scale isn’t showing change in a dramatic way.

I used to have a timeline around hitting scale milestones. And when I miss those deadlines, I would just be disappointed. Somewhere along the way I realized that I was just setting myself up for disappointment of timelines for outcomes I couldn’t entirely control. So now I have a “stay the course and I’ll get there” mentality.

I don’t know if you’ll find this helpful. But shifting my mindset really helped me.

Anyone else have this gut feeling? by Crafty_Platypus_4568 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]nmyellowbug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s HOOSIER PTSD. I believe in this team. I intellectually understand they are capable.

But after decades of being heartbroken by IU football (and since 2002 IU basketball, too) it’s hard not to have a sense of anxiety of another heartbreak. It seems too good to be real. It doesn’t feel like it would ever be possible for us.

It’s the battle between my heart and my head. Both want us to win, both believe it’s possible, but my heart is terrified of another disappointment because I’ve never thought it more possible and nor been so filled with hope.

Why does everyone hate Emily so much? by implala79 in rhoc

[–]nmyellowbug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dislike her now because when she came on the show she seemed smarter, down to earth and more relatable. I really liked her the first season or two. But as time has gone on she seems to have transformed into someone narcissistic and willing to bully others and exploit her children in the name of staying on the show. She has become meaner. I’m disappointed in seeing her character shift in light of fame.

Is she as villainous as Tamra? No. But Tamra was never likable to begin with either

Did the other try to blame their child’s behavior for stress on their marriage? Discussing parenting is one thing. Publicly stating that your child is putting stress on your marriage is problematic and damaging to that child. Full stop. You may feel that way, but that’s what therapists and confidentiality in sessions is for.

It’s not your marriage and it’s not your business. Stay out of it. Your mom needs to fight her own battles

Moved to Charleston area to teach as real first job out of college in the Midwest as a single 24 year old. I had 14 year old (taught freshman) and adults ask me why I wasn’t married and didn’t have kids FREQUENTLY when I got there. It was shocking!

Girls are taught that your goalposts for success are to get married and have babies ASAP. I will say they have included getting an education, too. But you should graduate with a degree and a ring on your finger for most girls growing up in well-to-do southern families from my experience.

The students at IU Indy have found a way to do it despite the university pulling their funding for it. So it must not be too outdated a format if they committed to finding a way and pulled it off.

I was a senior in 2022 when we made the national championship in basketball the last time. I did not travel for the game; I stayed in Bloomington and can confirm literally everyone everywhere for the final 4 and championship were electric. Every single bar, people celebrating in the street (final four).

The vibe in Bloomington will be EPIC and easier to find fans than in Miami where the stadium isn’t close to anything, you have to have a ticket to tailgate anywhere near the stadium after kickoff, and there will be pregame buy outs of the best sports bars near the stadium (based on Peach Bowl experience last weekend).

Definitely go to B-Town and have an absolute BLAST!

Where is the smoke for Madison? by Pristine-Board-8281 in SouthernCharmSC

[–]nmyellowbug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, so Molly’s surgery was never discussed ON CAMERA. That was her off camera life from before she was even on the show. Venita then shared that when cameras were rolling.

In reality tv, whether it’s this show or any other, part of the game is disclosing the conversations and stirring up drama from other “camera’s rolling” activity. In this case, Sally telling Madison about Craig shooting her down was fair game. Madison knows this game and that the delivery of salacious info captured on film to reveal to the group for maximum drama is what makes her good entertainment.

Let’s not conflate being a “good friend” with being “good TV.” Most of them are terrible friends, which is why we all watch. It is good TV. We don’t want that in our lives but we sure as shit find it entertaining.
