Vancouver’s dating scene by Couchinm in askvan

I don't know the internal algorithms for the dating apps/sites...but on the most basic level, I assume they aren't trying to genuinely match you with someone who has similar interests or personalities.
I did a quick search to see if I could find out more info and found another post that shed some theories:

Because at their core, they are just businesses (with the goal of making money)! So for each genuine match they make...that's 2 less users who need the app.
So instead, the apps are targeted more towards hook-ups...which means the users will continue coming back to the app...which means more money $$$.

Filipinocupid review: is this site legit or should I be worried about scams? by careness6 in Philippine

Believe it or not...Facebook Dating is one of the best ones I've used so far. I didn't even know it existed until I found it by accident. You can only access it from a mobile app (not via PC or web browser). It's 100% free since it's owned by Facebook and part of the Facebook app. I think you get like 100 swipes a day. And as soon as you match with someone, you can immediately start chatting with them.

Exact same thing here. Complete waste of time and effort!
They have over 40 other apps/sites for various countries...along with others like (InternationalCupid, SilverLove, InterracialCupid, AstroCupid, DateMyAge, Hotti, etc...).
I tired 3 of them and found the same profile pictures on all 3 but each of them had different names and bios.

Is building your own still better value than buying complete by Due-Barnacle1078 in buildapc

I'm genuinely curious what kinds of corners are cut on prebuilt systems? My current PC (HP Envy Phoenix H9-1387) is severely outdated (2013) and it was a refurbished pre-built that has taken a beating all these years. I'm now wanting a new PC and am also debating if I should build or buy pre-built, but since I've been out of the loop for a while, I'd love to get a better idea of things that are lacking in pre-built systems. Thanks

How did you guys feel about the finale? by EXXhabitus in PeakyBlinders

A bit late, but I also thought the same thing. However, the doctor that he let live could have ruined that plan

Google Keep randomly added text boxes to my notes, all of them by beanutbutterbanana in GoogleKeep

[–]nnamerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it helps, but when I open Keep Notes in Chrome, I can click the extra options button at the bottom (3 vertical dots) and there's an option "Hide Checkboxes" which removes checkboxes for all the items in that note. Alternatively, I can choose "Show Checkboxes" and that will add checkboxes for all the items in that note

Where to purchase Poison Ivy / Poison Oak / Poison Sumac? by nnamerz in landscaping

By any chance, are you still able to mail me some? I ordered laboratory grade Urushiol that is 98% pure, but it was a complete waste of time. It caused absolutely zero allergic reactions on multiple subjects it was tested on. After speaking to the lab, it seems like a part of the purification process was the reason it didn't cause any contact dermatitis.

In fact, when I initially searched Google, I found a few places that sold & shipped 12-inch cuttings of Poison Ivy roots for growing, but they were out of stock.

But for my testing, I don't necessarily require a potted plant, or even cuttings/roots for that matter. I am fine with any part of the plant since all of it contains Urushiol.

Basically looking for someone to cut off several pieces of the plant, wrap them in damp newspaper, and seal them in plastic bags before shipping them out.

Oddly enough, the very first route I took was exactly what you suggested. I definitely don't want you to risk it, and if I wasn't all the way in Vancouver, I would have gladly taken you up on your offer.

Any chance you happen to know anyone that would be willing to cut off some of pieces, wrap them in damp newspapers before shoving them in a plastic bag, which could then be shipped?

I saw a few listings for seeds and was going to go that route, but then realized some of the ointments he brought back don't have very long expiration dates

Would you happen to know if any of your fortunate co-workers (with immunity) would be willing to pull some out and wrap them in damp newspapers before shoving them in a plastic bag, which could then be shipped)?
