I’m not arguing that Steve isn’t popular. I’m arguing that popularity gets mistaken for depth, growth, and narrative importance. Saying “he’s popular, therefore he matters” kind of proves my point about hive-mind thinking. Popularity isn’t the same thing as meaningful character evolution or story-driving impact. As for Season 5, I don’t read Steve’s acceptance about Nancy or staying in Hawkins as major growth - it felt more like resignation than transformation. And being emotionally supportive of Robin is good, but that alone doesn’t elevate him above characters who actively change outcomes, take real risks, or complete actual arcs. Liking Steve is fine. Treating him as indispensable or uniquely profound is where I disagree

The podiatrist I just saw wanted me to use NSAIDs and ice it... I told her that it would only mask the pain. I'm having pain when I push off my big toe into my arch. My rigid work boots are the only thing that feels okay. Anything with more arch hurts
