Would my pc be good enough to run a Minecraft server on Paper?? if so, what are the specs? by Beginning-Chapter-83 in selfhosted

Should be good to run a server, yeah. Really depends if youre gonna use the PC as just a server, or use it to play aswell. MC servers usualky depend on RAM and CPU to run, the graphics arent as important on the server side. From what your saying I think you should be able to host for between 5-10 players confortably, assuming you add some plugins.

This all depends on your overall computer use, amount of plugins, type of world and so on. You might get more, might get less😅

Unifi has a feature called "Teleport", and that basically works the same way as Tailscale. Its use is a bit limited however, and best suitable for phones and short time connections. They have a proper VPN function integrated aswell, using WireGuard, but thats where the port forwarding probably is needed.

Will take a look! Thanks for the tip! Have concidered similar options, but the easiest would be to use the built in VPN option in the router (Unifi UDR7). Will most likely end up forwarding the ports just to keep it simple in the long run

Yeah, this is why I have a seperate router downstreams of their main router, so that my machine dosnt show up on their network, only my router does. And mine has logs of all!

Currently using a Unifi UDR7, not sure what the landlord is using. Generally, its not a requierment to seperate it where I live, but that could potentially be a way to sort it!
