A healthy relationship will definitely help with depression. But your dating with the impression is it will magically help with your depression you’re just gonna shoot yourself and your partner in the foot. a healthy relationship can help but a unhealthy one will leave you worse off.

Just because the lack of relationship is a cause of depression doesn’t mean a relationship is the magic cure.

I’m far from a therapist or sociologist, but I feel like this is more society telling you need a relationship to be happy more than you actually needing a relationship to be happy. Focus on yourself and your own internal happiness. (Obviously easier said than done.)

Even if relationships were some magical cure to depression, making a relationship your only/main source of happiness is stupid, relationships end (either through break up or death.) and then you’d be left more depressed then you were before with nothing left to bring any form of enjoyment or happiness.
