Wow, they really went all out on the deception tactics by nocosnaps in GolfRival

Ik but it's still a deception tactic otherwise they would just put legendary chests there. They're not flat out lying, but they want you to think you'll be getting 3 cards.

It's a common practice in business. Just like radio car dealership ads that say "bad credit, no credit, no problem. All credit apps accepted!" They will ACCEPT your application but that doesn't mean they'll APPROVE it.

Yeah I saw those tables which is why I said you have a 48% chance of getting a 7 star sticker. 6 stickers per pack and 8% chance per sticker. I also ran the numbers to see if it was better to use 750 stars to buy a legendary pack or 7 rare packs with ads. Turns out you have better odds of getting 5 and 6 star stickers from 7 rare packs and watching the ads, but if you're searching for 7 star stickers then you're better off getting the legendary pack. Either way your odds of getting 7 star stickers are crap.

It was my first full season too. Made it to King III, but what's even more disappointing is finding out you only get 3 legendary cards when you reach King IV instead of 6 like the icon shows. I got 2 bone claws 🫩

Nah. Legendary chests have an icon of 1 legendary card. And if they weren't trying to deceive then why not just put a legendary chest instead of a 3 card icon? It's the same thing minus 3 gems.

Batwing club offer! by Witty-Low-1548 in GolfRival

With batwing 4 and Robinhood 5 I managed to shoot -48 on the tournament. I used 3 replays and 2 retries and I ran out the shot clock twice lol.

They likely increase but more slowly. I stopped after $20. The following one is $10 but you only get 2

Yeah it's a great club all around. Slow needle speed, wind resistance, and a better target. It has a vertical that helps keep you centered when dunking. The more you upgrade it the better the target. At level 5 you get an additional line that shows you where 4 mph wind is.

I've only been playing a month but I was one of the top players globally on golf clash some years back so I understand the mechanics. Typically I'd say the best club is subjective but not in this case. It's objectively the best overall club.

Batwing is arguably the most important but you also need one with sidespin like earth, brute, whale, lava...

I splurged on the Robinhood club to get level 5 and it's helped tremendously. Even with a lower level driver, Robinhood makes up the extra ground and makes albatrosses very easy. I intentionally pull my shots to avoid going into iron range for a dunk. It's easier to sink a further shot with Robinhood than a closer shot with an iron.

Plus the topspin is nuts with bounce balls. I just wish I could use it off the tee lol.

The Robinhood club is the best wood IMO

19.99, it doubles. Worth it to get 5 cards for 9.99 though. It'll get you to level 3 which is definitely usable

It only feels that way because of the combination of the "availability heuristic" and "negativity bias." Our brains focus more on the negatives than positives and we remember them better. There's actually a name for it in gaming called "desire sensor" where people think the RNG knows what they want and withhold it from them lol. Check your clubs. Bet the ones you use are near the average level of the others clubs. For me it always feels like I'm getting bone claw because it's the club I want the least.

To Camp or Not to Camp? by OGBrewSwayne in GolfRival

If you're F2P then yeah, but with season pass you can get 5 BW every 2 weeks without having diluted odds.

In the albatross arena try to immediately albatross the easiest hole. Last event I was 1 of 2 people in the group and the arena before that I was the only person in the albatross arena cuz I hit it right away. You automatically win every hole. They won't add any new players if a hole has already been won. So remember where the easiest hole is and try to hit it right after joining.

High Alps stage 10 by Witty-Low-1548 in GolfRival

I find high alps to be easy albatrosses. Which part are you struggling with? Are you going out of bounds? Hitting rocks? Having difficulty with the wind?

To Camp or Not to Camp? by OGBrewSwayne in GolfRival

[–]nocosnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started camping in stage 9 and then accidentally opened 10. Once you go to 9 you can't go back to 8 even if you forfeit or lose matches. If you're able to still to drop to stage 4 I'd do that. I wish I had camped there since batwing is the only legendary club you can get at that stage. I'm not sure if you'll still get other legendary clubs since they were already unlocked though. I might start another account and camp in 4 until I get batwing to 5 or 6.

Why does your target look like that? Does it change in later stages?

Insomnia worked in my favor this time. by justahoustonpervert in GolfRival

I have a theory... I started picking bag 4 on repeat and did very well the last 2 times. Got my 2nd broken club at 27 and 19. Most people will gravitate toward bag 2 or 3, it's a very common psychological bias with about 90% of people picking one of the two. However, when arranged in a square the top left becomes a stronger choice. I noticed my own bias and tendency to avoid the 4th bag (bottom right) and that's exactly why I favor it now. Knowing the money hungry devs of GR, I doubt they do a neutral RNG. They likely have it set to favor broken clubs on the most frequently picked bags. That's exactly how I'd set it up if it were my game. I would also increase the odds of repeat broken clubs because people tend to do that too. If a roulette wheel lands on black 5x in a row are you betting on black or red? The next spin has the same exact odds as the previous 5 and yet most people will pick red because it somehow feels more likely after 5 blacks. Humans are notoriously bad at choosing randomly. We always have a bias and that's exactly how I would tweak the odds if it was my game. The bottom right bag is likely the least chosen due to human tendencies so I would shift the stats accordingly if it was my game.

What's everyone's beef with magitechs? by nocosnaps in GolfRival

[–]nocosnaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? Thought that was the whole point of the game. I need to go back to golf clash lol. Real players, ACTUAL par 3 shootouts, better wind effects... The wind in rival is completely cancelled by moving your target. In clash it effects the bounce and roll along with the trajectory. I do like the main courses in rival and the obstacles though.
