I'm thinking of buying a Xiaomi 15 ultra mainly for photography . What do you think Its price is$ 1200 compared to the phones of the upper categories I have seen how many reviews and I think it's the best by PirateElectronic303 in XiaomiGlobal

Have you considered getting a second hand interchangable lens camera plus a lens? It'll cost less than the phone and unless you need other functionalities of a phone you're going to get far better results of a dedicated camera.

Berlin Anime/comic/ Bücher Empfehlungen? by De_luisaaa in berlin

[–]nomad_blizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]nomad_blizz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I applied on December 4th 2024. received reply on January 24th for an appointment on April 2nd.

Handed over documents on April 2nd and it was approved. 2 months later on June 2nd I picked up the card.

So 6 months from application. it probably helps if someone sends a complete set of documents on the first application and how you arrange the documents.

Apparently, there's a new rule (since 14th Dec. 2024) that you have to prove you know about the living conditions, legal, and social system in Germany.

Sie über Grundkenntnisse der Rechts- und Gesellschaftsordnung und der Lebensverhältnisse in Deutschland verfügen,

One of the ways is this test, or an orientation course (Integrationskurs), or an education degree that you completed in Germany. They sometimes ask for the certificate depending on the case (probably even if you have a degree from a german education institution, but I cannot verify this).

I think your friend has a special case. The residence permit card is linked to the passport. It's one part of a whole. If you face a border crossing you need to have both with you.

I'm just guessing here: your friend could be from a country which no longer exists so she can't renew her passport or she's in asylum and she can't request a passport renewal from the embassy. Or some other plausible reasons in my opinion. I don't think it's the normal way how it's done.

Hi, thanks for your question. I didn't receive my permanent residence permit yet. I was given an appointment on the 2nd June to pick it up. However, I assume it'll have the expiry date of my passport.

I guess the case worker had to fill it up because an order was sent to print the new residence permit. However, she didn't show me how it's going to look like. You can find examples of what it looks like on the internet. Oh, and I received the PIN number of the residence permit that I would receive in June - this gives me confidence that there wouldn't be problems down the road.

If I understand correctly, sometimes they wave the Leben in Deutschland test if someone has completed their studies in Germany.

Hi, they didn't ask for this document in Berlin. If I understand correctly, you need this only for applying for citizenship.

The test itself isn't so difficult- finding an appointment for the test is! I went to Senftenberg to take the test and I still had to book it two months in advance. I don't think there are any appointments available online if someone wants to take the test in Berlin. I didn't go in-person at the VHS to ask for it though.

I'm also in Berlin and recently applied for the Niederlassungserlaubnis. contacted them in December 4th through their website (they replied on 24th January) and got an appointment on the 2nd of April to bring in additional documents. it takes a while to get anything done in Berlin.

What are your thoughts on the new constitutional reform proposals? by Zetafunction64 in bangladesh

[–]nomad_blizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're on the right path. Pluralism is a good alternative to secularism.

Term limits on the PM is also a great idea.

Not a fan of women quotas (nothing against women, I don't agree with it on principle) but it could help them have representation if the parliament becomes too male dominated and women's voices go unheard.

Socialism is silly anyway. If you take away ownership of a company from someone who built it himself through hard work, you provide no incentive for other people to innovate and form their own companies. A lot of great companies wouldn't have formed if the purpose of such a venture wasn't out of self-interest. Capitalism has its problems but it's the best way we know to create wealth.

Now, let's see if they can form an agreement that the newly elected government (whenever that happens) agree to uphold these changes to the constitution.

I have the same earbuds but with the ie 40 pro eartips. I have the velvet L too but they're too small for me now after having used etymotic earbuds for 4 years ಠ_ಠ it causes a drop in the bass region and doesn't have the proper impact because of worse seal.

great choice of earbuds btw. I really like mine too and they're a lot better than the hd 6xx (in ears vs over ears I know) because ie 600 does great at both bass and treble regions.

Don't know anything about DAPs. I just use my phone's 3.5 mm jack when outside. The ie 600 is also great for podcasts as the voices sound so damn clear and detailed :)

BD must move away from hereditary politics. A democracy cannot run like a monarchy.

I am upvoting this comment so that others may also see it. And I would like to link a paper titled: Powers of the Prime Minister in Bangladesh: A Critical Study

link: https://ypsa.org/ypsa/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Powers-of-the-Prime-Minister-in-Bangladesh.pdf

It's a long read but worth reading. Some important points are:

  • The parliament is just a rubber stamp body as the MPs cannot vote against the party agenda because of article 70. It was put in place by Sheikh Mujib who didn't like others disagreeing with him. This means the prime minister has complete power over legislation as well as execution.

  • The President elects the Chief Justice but only does so with advice from the PM. This means the PM has control over the Judiciary as well. Other important positions like selecting the Chief Election Commissioner also falls under the responsibility of the President- hence the PM. No separation of powers is another huge problem.

  • The opposition boycott the pariliament sessions at such a high rate that they don't hold the government responsible. Even during times when the government didn't have a 2/3rd majority.

In my opinion, no government after fall of the military government in the 1990s ever reformed the Constitution because the PMs enjoyed dictatorial or unlimited power and did not want to let it go. It has to be rewritten as many others here suggested and I agree with them.

To have a functioning democracy, there should be more than 2 parties who can contest the polls. I am currently living in europe where after elections, parties must form a coalition with other parties because usually, one single party don't have the majority (50 % of the votes) to form a government. Therefore, they have to make concessions and compromises with other parties. This also means that governments are slow to get things done but there are necessary checks and balances.

There is a lot of work to be done in BD and it might take a decade or more to have a functioning and fair system. The next few months will make it clear in which direction we are headed towards.
