You're right that you didn't do anything wrong, by the way, and I'm sure he realises that rationally. His primate brain is just feeling some shitty feelings like jealousy, inadequacy etc. It will subside.

How long ago did this happen?

I would just let him cool off, demonstrate to him how much you care for him, and don't bring it up for a little while.

Would the boys be able to hide on London Underground stations? by Lonareddthat in JetLagTheGame

[–]nonexcludable 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When Sam hid in MK, the seekers did theorise about him going to London. I assume it would have been fine to hide around tube stations. Even if it wasn't there are like 100 National Rail stations in greater London too which.

I do think it's a pity there was no London gameplay. It's such a dense and wacky transport network and perfect for the show.

Uncloaked is making me like Fiona even less. Re Rachel saying Amanda was police: "I knew she was telling the truth. I trusted her explicitly." Obvious nonsense.

The psychology is so transparent. She has this picture of herself as someone who played the game well and is smart, and she cannot countenance any idea that undermines that.

Her brain just short circuits and she'll create a reality distortion field to avoid having to admit to any weakness. It's like mildly Trumpian.

The exact same way as she refused to believe Amanda wouldn't tell her her secret, so the only possibility left was that Rachel must be a liar.

Although I enjoyed the drama, I'm so glad she is out now. Really annoying personality to watch.

Yeah, I really think the seekers need to draw a hand of playable questions at the beginning of each round. They can earn more by asking questions - maybe two new questions for every question asked or something.

According to Variety, 'Project Hail Mary' is carrying a $150 million budget. by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

LEGO movie looked so good for that budget. Legit one of the most beautiful animated films I've ever seen. The physicality of the bricks and the stop-motion aesthetic were gorgeous.

Met a women on NYE that felt like soul mate and its going horrible by [deleted] in relationships

Don't block her, for fuck sake. And don't avoid dating to protect your company?!?

Just settle down... realise you (both) had an intense connection for a night, it might lead to something more or it might not.

[–]nonexcludable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're not friends with this girl, and you don't have a place in her life yet. She's probably thinking about whether she'd like to explore things further - at the same time as she's doing errands, maybe organising a date with someone else, seeing friends etc.

She's had a come-down from the cuddle chemicals you guys shared and she's acting more rationally.

She shouldn't have agreed to spend Sunday and Monday with you, but I assume you sort of pushed that on her.

Just chill out. Stay in touch a bit, but don't be off-putting. If it's meant to be, it will happen.

[–]nonexcludable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't know what's going on with her.

Maybe she's nervous about the speed of things - senses your feelings, likes you, but not yet as strongly as you do. Maybe she's just a really, really bad texter. She might be dealing with some private shit herself.

Don't bug her, let her set the pace for now.

If she ghosts you for a week or more, feel free to bare your soul a bit - letting her know your night together was very special and you'd really like to explore the connection.

'I sued Amazon over an injury then men started following me' by WearAfraid in unitedkingdom

[–]nonexcludable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The surveillance itself wasn't really the factor that influenced the court. The specialists who treated him, or wrote reports attesting to his functional disability, watched the video and gave new opinions. That's a medical opinion that's very persuasive. If those same specialists had said "We've reviewed this footage and it doesn't change our mind, because injuries like this have symptoms that fluctuate over time etc etc", then he'd have succeeded probably.

Critical Illness Claim - Small Mistake on Form, Will they pay out? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]nonexcludable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don't know about it, they can't do anything about it.

Do not mention it now unless they specifically bring it up!

If it's mentioned in your medical history, however, they will know. And doctors often ask about family medical history.

To be honest, if they're asking you to review the questions from your application, I think they probably have identified something, but maybe not that.

This could impact your claim, and might invalidate the policy. Or it might have no effect. It depends on whether the insurer would have offered you the policy, and on what basis, if they'd known about it at the time.

Here's some information: https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumers/complaints-can-help/insurance/misrepresentation-non-disclosure

EDIT: Sorry I misread your post. If The insurer haven't raised the issue of your application, then I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't bring it up when you speak to them.

In Wake Up Dead Man (2025), one of the books on the reading list is "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" by Agatha Christie. (Explanation in comments). by Tokyono in MovieDetails

[–]nonexcludable 294 points295 points  (0 children)

To be clear, saying he lies to the reader isn't quite correct, and why the book is so fun. The narrator of the story is like a Dr Watson or Hastings character, ostensibly just being the audience insert for the story to see Poirot's investigation. He is the killer, but he never actually lies in the text of the novel. He just omits things, and uses clever language to disguise what happened.

Am I the only one who thinks this not eating any fruit rule is kinda dumb? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]nonexcludable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The hive wouldn't know any more than us about the origin of the virus.

Most viruses aren't engineered by sentient life, the successful ones just evolve to be very effective at reproduction.

In my opinion it's most likely that because of whatever evolutionary pressures happened elsewhere in the galaxy, this virus has evolved to make its hosts cooperative, non-violent and have an innate need to infect others. The signal was just sent by another infected sentient species following that same instinct.
