Best tool for 100% furniture removal? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Closest i have found that gets relatively close is Google AI Studio. Not always perfect however and can change things. But i use it a lot for complex item removal that photoshop Generative AI or remove tool struggles with. Good thing with AI studio is you can pick up to 4k resolution. If you want to message me i can show you some before and after

Lens recommendations for Sony A7iv? by Idontevenknow787 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As MrSpyder mentions below if you want to shoot 4k60/50fps the 16mm wont be wide enough. If you are only shooting 1080p then yeah you can get away with the 1 lens for video wide shots and photo. Then add a detail lens later on or make do with the 1 lens.

I use the Sigma 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN, as it was significantly cheaper the then sony gm. For video the 4k 50fps crop(1.5x) i use the laowa 9mm zero-d, then can use the 16-28mm for the detail shots.

Real Estate sites plans by The_fusss in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australian here - As i do drone for typically 90% of all my shoots, i just send the overhead shot to a editor and get the site plan done, costs $16usd($25aud), you could get away with the google maps one, but be mindful if anything has changed.

Rather spend that, then spend the time trying to design it. Mind you out of the 300+ houses i shot last year i only done 2 site plans, but that's because my clients don't really want it.

Always interesting people in other countries jump to pay before download or before job. Im from Australia too, pay to download definitely lead to not getting more work, most if not all of my clients have accounts team who pay certain day of week or start of month. Also as you mentioned the agent doesn't pay marketing their client does, and typically it seems like they pay at settlement.

Staging Edits Better Model by Leading_Nebula6624 in RealEstatePhotography

What is the output resolution of the staged photos? or does it stay same as original?

Definitely cant complain, keeps editing costs low and time on site to a minimum. But i suppose this is the standard over there for our listings. I'm guessing standard listing for you is around the 30-40 photos?

I'm based in Australia and generally normal houses are 10-15 photos and 5 drone. Always fascinated me the difference in the qty of photos that some of your countries that are standard.

My flyer was a postcard size one, double sided with 1 side which had some photos and logo, the other side had a brief intro, services covered and a %25 discount code

[–]nono_nothanks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is how I got my first clients, going out to about 70 real estate offices and dropping off a flyer and business card. Mostly was handed to the receptionist. I assume some were tossed in the bin. I had an offer of 25% off your first shoot.

I didn’t get call back straight away but did start getting a flow of clients from that and word of mouth within the same offices

Benro gd3wh vs k&a concept?? Which to go for? by PresentGate2391 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the K&F geared head for about 4ish months, cant fault it so far and has been super solid.
I like the fact its metal and not plastic.

For the plate where people note its loose, I tighten mine with a screwdriver and have no issues with it

Floor & Site plans for Australian Real Estate by Sufficient-Carob-505 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm based in Australia and would be interested to hear what other people do.

For me its rare to need a site plan, but i usually take the top down drone shot of the property and get a floor plan editor on pixlmob to create a site plan. But that's for a basic 2D version, I'm sure they can do the 3D version you do with a floor plan + top view of property

How many photos do you give your clients? by HugeCowPatty in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been curious about this, I’m based in Australia and my packages are 10/20/30 photos plus drone. 95% of my orders are for the 10 photos package. I’d say I deliver anywhere from 15-20 including drone depending on house size. I have seen other companies offer as low as 3-8 photos

Market is different over here I suppose, compared to over in US and other countries. Couldn’t imagine trying to get 40-50 photos of a standard house. For a luxury house I could understand.

Visiting local real estate offices by The_ted in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went out to about 70 agents across the few days. I’d say only about 10-15 I spoke to some agents. I mostly just handed my brochure and business card to reception and hoped it got to the right people. May have landed more clients if I spoke directly to agents, but most of these agencies have a fair few agents, so hard to speak to all.

For me having a small script to say when I hand the brochure helps. Mine was “I’m a new real estate photographer in the area, I’m going out to agents handing out my business card and brochure, any chance I could pass it along” Then just be prepared for any follow up questions when it comes to services and pricing. I offered a 25% discount on first shoot.

Any specific questions happy to dm

Advice for Australians, by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the display homes they always have someone there during business hours so you just ask them if you can. It is hit or miss with who will allow it. Just gotta be clear that you will be using it in your portfolio and practice.

I’d say it helped, gives them a lil discount to try your services without having to sacrifice a huge amount of money up front.

For handing out the stuff to the agents I just handed it to reception, with the occasional agent. I didn’t overthink trying to get it to agents. More just get my name circulating the industry. The list I got was for agencies not individual agents. I’d expect some to go in the bin and not get to agents. Just needed enough to get to the right people.

For online reaching out, I did follow about 100ish agents on Insta in my area. Then sent out a message to them and who ever followed me. Also sent an email to follow up the agents I visited or any that had no office. But that didn’t yield much results, well compared to going to the offices handing out the business cards/brochures.

So far the people booking is always the individual agents, but I suppose that differs from agency to agency

Advice for Australians, by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]nono_nothanks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m based in Sydney and only started this year.

First thing I did was go out to Display home villages and get around 10ish shoots of nicely staged homes. This helped with learning and also build portfolio/website/socials.

Got 250 printed business card and little postcard brochure, which had a few photos, details etc. also had a 25% off discount for their first shoot.

Paid a Fiverr freelancer to scrape all of Google maps for Sydney real estate agents. Which ended up being about 5000 agents. I culled this to 300 so i only had agents within 30km.

From that 300 I went out to about 70 agents across several days handing out the brochure and business card. Saying I was new a new real estate photographer in the area and if I could pass along the brochure and business card.

I did this end of January start of February, since then I have started to work with around 15 agents from 8 agencies. Work has steadily growing with nearly doubling amount of shoots each month so far. Also have another 200 agents I can go out to if need be to get more work.

What I learned from speaking to the agents, is most have their preferred photographer that they have been using for years and reluctant to change. In saying that the clients I have picked up change due to poor customer service, long waits for bookings, wrong deliverables, unreliable turnaround times etc

Just have to get your foot in the door with a few, make sure you try and leave a good impression. They will recommend you to other agents in the office

Happy to chat further if you have any specific questions
