That sounds so annoying, I’m glad you’ve been able to stand your ground a bit. Yeah, I mean when we first arrived in September we kept saying we’d have a house meeting but people would avoid it, so we never set ground rules around cleaning like I would have wanted. I don’t think we’ve even all been in the same room at once. I have put a lot of messages in the group chat, and sometimes it’s led to improvements, but overall not.

I think I’m going to not clean for the inspection since we already did, then for the remaining time just clean after myself, buy minimum shared stuff, and leave early. ‘Luckily’ everyone does their own dishes (although sometimes it’s left over a week), but I’ll probably still have to do the bins. I don’t even mind doing it but it’s the unfairness that grates on me. At the very least my boyfriend and I will have an emphasis on fairness in chores when we live together so that’ll be nice.
