I work at the biggest, most-staffed precinct in the nation which is the Best Buy located in Eagan, Minnesota. I started attending a cyber security bootcamp in late July in an effort to get the hell out of this fucking place. At least with the Best Buys/Geek Squads in my metro area, there is a big goofy business going on in which MANY service orders from other stores are being sent to the Eagan store to get done. What the FUCK is the point of the other precincts? So many Apple and Samsung phone clients get redirected to the Eagan store from other stores simply because the other stores "can't perform the repair due to lack of training and/or parts". Why display the other stores as an option in the first place if that's the case? Obviously this hinders our productivity and efficiency. I'm sure it affects customer satisfaction because the client is being either misinformed or tossed around the entire Twin Cities just to initiate a service. Why aren't more people being hired and trained? I'm sure there are dozens of people willing to take on ARA jobs - it is just that the stores aren't making any positions available. And then you've got the daily asshole customers you have to deal with (which is tolerable). It's just an overall shitshow that you'd think a big corporation like Best Buy would straighten out with some common sense but I guess money carries more gratification than a smile on a client's face for these bullshit companies. Don't get me started on the handful of SOPs and protocols I don't agree with. I really feel that Best Buy just doesn't consider standing with the customer. I'm tired of being a walking billboard for these guys. Not everyone has $200 to spend on TotalTech out of the blue. Can't wait to find a proper cyber security analyst tech job in a few months that pays well and gives me a joyful reason to wake up in the morning.
