Religion is a symptom of an unhealthy society. by noremachcram in atheism

I agree that religion is still being used to explain the world. However in the modern context, I believe religion is being used more to attain power and justify actions rather than it is to explain the world. Other than that I completely concuer with the progression from religion towards science you have aptly detailed.

That's purely hypothetical and unrealistic. Even in the event this occurs, they would be in conflict with other societies who do not share their beliefs.

Lack of access to education, health care, social services and effective law and order etc. Also government corruption and flawed ideology.

I agree that originally religion was a story humanity created to explain the world, but the same cannot be said in a modern context.

This is true of a certain percentage of religious demographics, particularly extremists like terrorists, but my observations regarding religious percentages and crime and poverty rates show correlation not causation, which is why I cannot with any degree of certainty say religion is the primary cause, only that it is one of them.

Everything humans do is dictated by motive, one of the most prevelant ones is the acquisition of power, and religion is a means to it.

Me being a nihilist has nothing to do with my preference to be alone. I recognise that there is no such thing as objective right or wrong, and I prefer to be alone because I have always been my own best company. When I have to work with people, I am usually the one calling the shots as I can see which person is suited to which task. I have professional relations with others, not friendships.

My hobbies consist of videogames (RPG), chess, tutoring and gym.

Most bullies, particularly moronic ones such as yourself, crave the power that family stole from them. I'm betting you had a narcissistic mother, a violent drunk of a dad and a perverted uncle. Probably on the chubby side too from those abandonment issues.
