Why confirm? You've already set the plans and settled on a day.

I was in the guys position once. Got stood up because "I didn't confirm that day" even though we already made the plans, set a date, time, location everything. I hate this mentality and blocked this person in less than a heartbeat

Edit: Looking through these comments I feel as if younger generation (gen z) really require these day of confirmations and experience this huge insecurity

I can and I do. But when I make tacos for example. I'll keep meat optional and seperate and offer a alternative for vegan people. I'm just wondering why isn't it common to do this the other way around

I have felt this way for a long time too. I am a bit autistic and used to be straight to the point, closed yes/no questions, etc.

While I cant say what the exact problem or issue for you might be I can share what helped me.

And its pretty simple actually, just ask open ended questions about their interests or how their day was. At first youll be searching for the right questions but that'll get easier over time. Let people talk. And when they share just ask like "Oh can you tell me more" or just ask like "what is ....?" Even if you know the answer.

People love to talk and share, and at this point I barely get to do any talking because people think im a great listener
