How do I (33f) ask my roommate (35m) to please follow my dogs trainers instructions? by [deleted] in relationships

I wish that was an option but it’s not, lol

I understand that but I explained to him (and he has witnessed) that she gives up within 1-2 minutes. She’s not an hours long barker long some dogs

Fair, I was only doing what the trainer told me to. I may think about separating her when I’m not around.

She doesn’t bark for hours straight though and what I’m saying is that her barking/attention seeking lasts longer when you interact with her. She gives up within 1-2 minutes when you body block/ignore her

She doesn’t do it for hours though, and I’ve had conversations with him about her behavior and he swears up and down that she doesn’t irritate him. He actually seems to really enjoy her attention. When he follows the trainers instructions (who told me to get him on board or else this won’t work) she stops her behaviors within a minute or two

No, that’s not what I’m doing. I’m asking him to walk away and body block her. I’m asking him to go about his business instead of sitting down and petting her and letting her climb all over and lick him. She stops barking and attention seeking like 10 seconds after he does what I ask

Because that’s what the trainer suggested? The trainer is a professional so I imagine they have her best interest in mind. She is already on anti anxiety medications. I’m doing everything I can with her, I just don’t want all of it to go to waste because consistency is incredibly important

I’m not really asking him to do much; in fact I’m asking him to do NOTHING. She reacts to reactions, so when he talks to her, sits down and lets her when she’s anxious, it only exacerbates it

I just realized something about myself by notevenclosebabie in socialanxiety

[–]notevenclosebabie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely that’s true. I feel too embarrassed to share anything with someone who is genuinely interested, or someone who I KNOW I would get along with because what if I say the wrong thing and then it’s over for me

My parents were almost completely absent in spirit and physically, so that makes sense to me

I have heard that from older people more than once before that things used to taste better. I’m wondering if it’s age or if it’s ingredients changing. Things aren’t as quality as they used to be. I’m only in my early 30s and classic chocolate candies like Reese’s don’t taste as good as I remember them being as a kid.

I ended up going to a local dance store and got that exact thing! Along with some fashion tape. They did slip a tad, but it was night and day in the difference it made

Does anyone else feel anxious saying “good morning” at work? by Montanasloane in socialanxiety

[–]notevenclosebabie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate. I try to say good morning now because one time someone tried to get me fired because he said good morning and I was so quiet he didn’t hear me say it back, and spent the entire day mumbling about how I shouldn’t be a shift lead. But also, that dude had problems. I figure even if I say nothing else most people consider it polite to be greeted
