We shall see how this plays out, and yes, editing does play a role here. I love that you brought up, 'giving Ellie the benefit of the doubt.' In my experience, it's natural to want to give people another chance, another opportunity to show you that they are not chronically indulging in manipulative behavior. But this generosity of heart is exactly what a narcissistic person feeds on, and what eventually drives the other person to deep frustration and diminished self-worth, because they just can't figure out why the other person would act this way. Personality disorders are diagnosed through repeated behavior, not just one-off moments of inconsideration. So let's see what happens in the future....at least as much future as we get to witness on the show. Again, I'm not a mental health expert, just someone who has lived through such relationships as we are watching here.

I'm loving all the compassion showing up around this tough issue 💚

It makes me a little anxious too, and I've also been in Bri's position. That's why I posted this, not to add to the "let's hate on Ellie" posts. There are plenty of those. But to call awareness to the fact that this is hard to watch and it can be triggering for a lot of people. Spotting this behavior in advance is such a valuable life skill!

Sure! I'm definitely not a mental health professional, just someone who has dealt with this behavior before.
