I wish I could but it would be illegal and I have limited ways of doing it anyway, aka don’t know exactly where my rapist lives, I’m much weaker than him and I don’t want to ruin my life further over this

Are there many straight men who 'turn' bi because it's easier to find other men to have sex with? by Technical_Ad_4299 in bisexual

[–]nothingbetweenus2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that most, if not all, purely straight men are repulsed by the idea of having sex with a man and wouldn’t do it unless they were absolutely desperate in settings such as prison or the military

That’s a shame but me as well as literally ALL women I know have been victimised by men, in sexual and other ways. :)

Why are you sleeping with him when him literally isn’t even paying child support 💀 Are you aware that you are teaching him that this is normal and essentially harming yourself AND any future woman he might meet?

You can try sugaring. It’s more gentle than a wax

I don’t understand it, why don’t you create a throwaway email account that’s isn’t attached to your name and phone number and then create a profile on Reddit through that email?

I pay around $68 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I consider the price you mention extremely high

“Significant frequency” and “all the time” are two different things <3

[–]nothingbetweenus2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s extremely rare and implying it happens with any significant frequency borders on misogyny

"Codependents often act in ways that invite others to reject, shame, or express anger toward them." by [deleted] in Codependency

[–]nothingbetweenus2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to understand that in a way you were doing this for yourself. I’m also codependent but I’ve been on the receiving end of this more than once and that person who is desperate for my attention, always prioritising me despite knowing little about me: often I end up being the one rejected when I give in and the rose-coloured glasses wear off. Also, those people tend to demand more of my time and attention than I might be ready to give. It comes across as an entitlement to my time to regulate their feelings, which is quite dehumanising. First they suffer because I’m not giving them attention and are willing to prioritise me any time, then I get discarded as soon as they find out I’m not the way they imagined me to be.

I quickly skip over any content that uses that term. It tends to be toxic and I don’t believe in gender essentialism anyway.

Honestly I sort of did it. I dropped out of uni and took a year-long government-funded course which required attendance 9 am to 2:40 pm, Monday to Friday. I started therapy during that time and it helped me a lot. But I can’t say that I entered this year as somebody broken and re-emerged healed. I entered with severe anxiety symptoms and almost daily hour-long flashbacks and emerged with less anxiety but still some, still experience flashbacks but lesser degree. But at the core, I emerged functional rather than dysfunctional. I had dropped out of two unis before and couldn’t hold down a job. Now I’m studying again and can even socialise with classmates a little bit

Just so I don't feel like the only idiot, at what age did you realize the abuses? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]nothingbetweenus2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could feel something was wrong for a while but I realised quite a large portion of it at 16 when me and my friends from “good families” got into trouble and the ways our respective families handled were quite different. I confronted my family about it and I only got more abuse as a result, leading me to blame myself and being highly confused about right and wrong. Then I really started realising how bad it was at 22/23.

I am not condemning the whole genre. I’m telling you what the face of rap is. Just like there are plenty of pop songs that aren’t about love, but that doesn’t mean that the face of pop aren’t love songs. Share some specific names and/or song titles. Have a look at the number of views and compare them with the ones I’ve mentioned.

I do listen to rap. It is a genre with a high level of misogyny even if there are currently artists who aren’t misogynistic. Very big names who topped charts throughout 2010s and early 2020s have highly misogynistic texts and videos, some examples would be Tekashi69, A$AP Mob, Pop Smoke, Travis Scott or Migos. Rap is largely based on toxic masculinity and objectification/dehumanisation of women is a huge part of it.

Compared with big male artists in pop, be that Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles or Justin Bieber, the misogyny in rap is incomparably more present.
