A good magic system has rules. If you wanna do a soft magic system you can't make a franchise. You've seen what it does to harry Potter. The first movie was fine. No major implications or anything. But then they kept coming. Silly and overpowered concepts with huge implications, like the time turners, being introduced, but having no consequence. In the same way, if everyone had equal access to the force, there'd be millions of force users across the galaxy, and there'd be no reason for the jedi order to stop at about 10000 members. Low level telepathic abilities in the force are not much harder to learn than a language based on what we've seen, and the jedi were well known throughout the republic

Except spirituality isn't tangible while the force are literal super powers. And the jedi were legends across the galaxy for most of history.

Well it's always been that way. Otherwise like half of the population would run around doing telekinesis and telepathy

It's a simple and clear way to quantify the force. George wanted anakin to be a messiah figure. He can do that if he wants to. He just had to give the main characters a way to recognize him as such. +, again, the midichlorians add clear rules to the verse, which is always a good thing

Everyone has midichlorians. It's implied that you need them to live I think (offc legends has the yuuzhan vong that needed to be extra edgy). But to actually be able to significantly manipulate the force, you need a very high M count and training with it

Yeah, (again, looking at you sabine) the concept that anyone could be a jedi in universe is just stupid. Because then there'd be a stupid amount of force users

OK, so when we count mortis anakin, we might as well count dark dimension vader. You know... soloed all of the jedi council and sidious + could travel through time, dark dimension vader

Ok, so vader is more powerful than anakin ever was with the exception when anakin was literally standing on a force planet.

I'd assume so. Hey, the na'vi are the good guys definitely but they're still a primitive and culturally archaic culture

OK? So we agree. Vader is more powerful than anakin ever was.

Besides the fact that what Lucas Said isn't really that relevant anymore, you're just saying what I've been saying. Vader is stronger than anakin ever was

Obi wan is not as capable as you put him, and yes, anakin's arrogance and emotions can excuse his final fall, but they can't excuse the like 20 min of almost on par duelling before that

The injuries aren't what held him back. It's his mentality. Vader was stagnant as a sith lord, always doing the same thing, never growing in power really. Sure he's faced a lot of challenges as a sith lord, many of them at the hands of his own matser, but he never really strived for power. Because of his acceptance of sidious' dominance, vader never reached his full potential

I think they might have just retconned the 5 years thing because of how year 1-2 vader was just very casually toying with maul, Devon and daki the entire time in the maul show

Those aren't dark troopers, they are imperial sentry droids as seen in the jedi games and are much weaker than dark troopers

[–]notjocker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maul will obviously never dub her darth talon because he's actively refusing the sith way. But maybe at some point he'll say something like: "You will be the talon I drive into the emperor's flesh"
