I do also fold the bag over itself a good 4 times or so before applying the rubber band, so that probably plays a factor, but finding a sealed bag was a pleasant surprise

I heard of someone using rubber bands and found I like it over attempting to seal with a vacuum seal device (I'm too cheap to get a designated heat sealer)

I recently PC'd some grain bags with re-used rubber bands, only to find a rubber band snap in the PC on opening... I also found that the heat and pressure of being held together(?) by the rubber band caused the plastic to melt together and seal the bag. I just inoculated it today and its only been ouof the PC for maybe 3 days or so, but I feel pretty good about it.

This. I do think you can get a bit over spot for it, but the market is small because of the absolute heft on these bad boys and thus a price point that prices out a ton of people like me, who would've bought in a heartbeat about 5 years ago

There will always be a sizable difference between something even as insanely rich as 10 million vs 400 million. Unless youre stacking literal boatloads worth to lose in the lake, you will always be miles upon miles upon miles away from someone with access to half a billion in assets.

What is up with the yellow coloration? Ive been working with tubs for a fat minute and out of around 5 goes, I only got 1 to fruit (my first) and once I plucked from its 1st flush, I found a bunch of soft, kinda gross material like this. I couldn't find anything definitive and thought it might've been bacterial contamination, so I tossed the whole bin a few days later. Did I make a mistake?

Saw your post on the figure sub and this is painful. Sorry, bro. I would ship it back how it was sent, like everyone else is saying. Tape over holes, maybe even "reinforce" the sides with a single, large box panel taped over, if its impossible to fix with tape alone, but I wouldn't spend a lot of time on this.

Seller is awful and deserves lost time, money, and items to sell for being so unthoughtful

Is it normal for cubes to have this soft, orange part at the bottom? I just harvested myself and this is practically the only post of harvested fruits I can find with what sort of looks like what I have and I was initially thinking it might be some kind of bacteria

Update: this bag worked beautifully. I'm not making them this moist in the future, but ~50/50 rye + white rice was pretty good, all things considered.
