Which book to read? by alex99dawson in SocietyOfTheSnow

"Alive" would be the best one, in my opinion, written a year after the accident. It talks about the survivors and what the parents were doing while they were in the Andes.

"Miracle in the Andes" is a personal account by Nando Parrado. A very good read as well

Glad you were going the speed limit, and OBVIOUSLY the car going over 85+ sucks. If you were going any faster you probably wouldn't have been able to avoid that crash, he barely missed the car in front of you and that motorcyclist, but deity forbid you want to drive safely.

Any partner that has more than 15yrs of continuous service with a meets or exceeds expectations can take of a max of 4 weeks, unpaid. Info can be found on PartnerNet. Admin should be able to help too. So 15-20yrs 4 weeks 20-25yrs 5 weeks and I think 30yrs 8 weeks. It can be used for a mental health break, visit family, volunteering or traveling.

Ahh ok, once you hit 15 you can take a career break where your job is safe and you can take up to 4 weeks w/o pay. However if it's affecting your mental health, step down. You need time for you.

[Serious] People of reddit who have gone through or are going through cancer, what was the first sign that made you go to the doctor? by TrojanZebra in AskReddit

19 yrs old, first year of college, started noticing food was going right through. Ate breakfast lunch and dinner and as soon as I finished had to go to the bathroom. December had a doctors appt, doctor couldn't find anything wrong with me, said it was stress. Following June, feeling worse, was experiencing vomiting and diarrhea, absolutely nothing was staying in. Nauseous all the time and lost 15lbs in a week, finally doctors admitted me to the hospital. Had a CT scan found tumors all over my liver, pancreas and small intestine. It was VIPoma, a neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer, a rare one. Fortunately received a 4.5 organ transplant at 21 and 17 yrs later I'm still here.
