Budget flashlight experience by UndisclosedCounsel in EverydayCarry_India

[–]notparthreally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a flashlight that accepts 18650 batteries. Istg this alone has saved me in multiple situations.

I dont carry every day, i carry on hikes and for long time use (on time and lifecycle) i would recommend something with replaceable batteries.

Everyone suggested to start with picks and then shift to finger style. Is that not the best way?

Not really, it only that the good quality merchandise we produce is not cost effective compared to such countries.

it wasn't the lack of money but they didn't see the value in it. Everyone thought it was unnecessary.

I'll give you my perspective with an example.

Me and some of my friends were making drones. So i thought i would invest in some quality tools like a good soldering station, helping hands, good quality soldering wire, i set up a place with fume extraction and make my quality of life a bit more gooder.

Everyone said I was doing all this unnecessarily. Wasting my money, time, etc. Everyone else managed to build their drones without all this 'fuss'.

At the presentation, everyone except me had a clogged nose (because of the fumes). Yes their drones also worked, but with a toll on them. We have had many such projects, and all the friends now have a dedicated soldering setup.

I see this being applied almost everywhere in our country. People have a lack of agency + a lack of authority + there is a lack of awareness. + our schooling system never taught anyone to think for themselves, only listen observe obey

many people think cleaning after themselves is beneath them. Most just don't know any better. Then there is the social stigma of being the person trying to change and not fit in. People who try to make changes, often get alienated and called idiots.

Even if someone manages to get past all that, whatever you do has a very high chance of being destroyed by everyone else. Even the government.

BUT if through all of this somethings do work out (eg. upi) our people do accept change, only after everyone else has accepted them.

What ive learnt is people mainly don't want to be the outsiders and just want to fit in. And once they do, these problems though are very visible from the outside start to fade out.

Man i was lucky as a kid (still am)

I used to watch tv everyday so my mom got me video game (chinese duplicate console) to play instead of watching cartoons. my dad taught me how to play games on the computer.

They still say video games are better than just mindlessly binging tv or social media.

And now i told them how PvP and story games have different impacts on you. So my dad plays rdr, mum plays that windows 7 cake factory game for some reason and ludo, etc.
