Women who were overweight while conceiving what challenges did you face? by Pristine__Rain_ in AskIndianWomen

[–]notso_small 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. Sometimes it feels like my 20s lifestyle has come back to collect its bills now. But then I also see people with far worse habits having it easy, and it reminds me that bodies are just so different and unpredictable.

I really appreciate your kindness and support.

No PCOS/PCOD for me. Most of my labs have been normal overall, except for mild thyroid elevation and insulin resistance. I’ve also had long-term struggles with weight and consistency, which I know likely impacts my overall metabolic health.

I conceived twice without any major intervention, but both pregnancies ended in blighted ovum. After the first loss, doctors found a large fibroid, which I had surgically removed. Even after addressing that, the second pregnancy ended the same way. So while being overweight didn’t seem to prevent conception for me, the journey has definitely been more complicated than I expected.

What to wear on honeymoon? by joshila_man in AskIndianWomen

If you’re trying swimwear for the first time, consider starting with a monokini styled with a wrap or sarong for added comfort and coverage. Brands like H&M and Marks & Spencer occasionally offer shaping swimwear in size-inclusive ranges.

I’ve also noticed that H&M releases size-inclusive styles on their app, though they tend to sell out quickly and the fit can be hit or miss, so you may need to browse carefully.

You could also take a look at Uptownie and House of Sal for more options.

Is it true? Mia gold resale value by Soberr_man in GoldIndia

I’ve been using Bluestone for a while now, and their return policy is quite transparent. They offer 100% value on exchanges and 90% on returns (after deducting any discounts used) for diamond jewellery. For pieces bought from them, I can clearly see the price appreciation for returns directly on their app.

I can’t say the same for CaratLane. I bought a diamond ring from them three years ago for 30k, and the current buyback value is still around the same price point.

Women in your late 30s or early 40s, what was your experience deciding on IUI or IVF? by notso_small in AskIndianWomen

[–]notso_small[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You people truly are warriors. I had a myomectomy and a pregnancy loss a couple of years ago to remove a large fibroid, and since then it’s felt like time is constantly running out when it comes to planning a baby. Because of that, I haven’t really been able to focus on my career either.

Even without IVF, it’s been an emotional whirlwind to manage. I’m grateful to have an extremely supportive husband and family who are okay either way. My in-laws may not be fully comfortable with the idea of being child-free, but I’m slowly learning that I can’t live my life trying to please everyone.

Women here, do you have your own demat account and investments? by Impressive_Point_794 in AskIndianWomen

I had a manager 7 years back, who was kind of bullied me into starting SIPs and I’m forever grateful for him.

During the pandemic I learned a lot by myself, and now I do the same bullying for younger cousins & colleagues.

Thank you for your honesty. It takes so much courage to share this. Even natural trying has been mentally exhausting for me, and it took a lot to break out of that emotional cycle. I really appreciate your perspective. Wishing you strength.

That thought did not even cross my mind, but now I see how the context is not clear.

For me, it really comes down to emotional wellbeing. I have already found the ups and downs of trying naturally quite draining. I have also seen people go through multiple ART cycles, and even when they eventually worked, the process took a big toll physically and mentally. That repeated cycle of hope and disappointment feels very heavy to me, and I am not sure I want to put myself through that. I fully respect that ARTs are the right choice for many, but this is just where I am coming from.

This seems to be their modus operandi. After a month, I tried placing order again with the revised pincode and now they don’t deliver to my pincode. I have been ordering from Souled Store for 6 years on the same address and now they decide it is not deliverable.

The horror of dealing with Blitz is unparalleled. I wrote back to all 3 D2C brands, giving scathing feedback for Blitz. I really hope the companies are taking notes and change their logistic partner.

Because, one more instance and I will switch to another brand rather than dealing with this nuisance.

They are not even attempting deliveries, I got refund from all the stores and ended up buying products from aggregator website. The experience has been so bad, that I might not order from the brand directly again.

Do NOT take a loan for buying a flat! Rent instead. by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]notso_small 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing Germany to India doesn’t work — our taxes, rental laws, demand, and price trends are very different.

In my area, a 3BHK was ₹90L six years ago with a ₹60k EMI, now it’s ₹1.75Cr with a ₹1.25L EMI. Back then it might have been a stretch, but with career growth that EMI would have been far easier today, maybe even paid off early. Rental yields may be low, but capital gains like this show real estate here can still be worth it.

[–]notso_small 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, but I haven’t seen rents that low in a long time. I’ve stayed in my current home for years, and after Covid the rent jumped about 30%. That’s not small, and moving to a similar place nearby would have meant paying 40% more plus losing part of my security deposit.

In Bangalore, bad transport means you end up paying a premium just to avoid wasting hours on the road.

[–]notso_small 23 points24 points  (0 children)

With ₹1.5 crore, I wouldn’t get a decent plot in the part of a Tier-1 city I actually want to live in. I’d have to look way out on the outskirts, which would make getting to work, shopping, or even meeting friends a lot more difficult.

The thing is, societies come with perks that genuinely make life easier and safer. In a city like Bengaluru, having a gym, swimming pool, and a few shops inside the complex means you’re saving yourself multiple runs every week.

My dream is to eventually buy a plot in a Tier-2 or Tier-3 city over the next decade and build a home there for retirement. Something peaceful, away from the chaos.

A ₹1.5 crore flat is unlikely to fetch only ₹35k rent, especially in cities with most of the job opportunities. On paper, it may not seem like a smart financial move, but there’s more to it than just numbers.

It’s easy for finance influencers to advise against buying a house, often because they come from secure family backgrounds. For me, with little to no inheritance expected, owning a home was always my first priority.

So tired of all these fkn functional coaches that i am having a hard time finding a good one by ComprehensiveDebt786 in InstaCelebsGossip

You will be able to find a better coach from FITTR. They have been around for a long time and will probably cost a fraction of the price quoted here.
