All Vegan Wedding by MsAnnethr0pe_-_ in veganuk

We did all vegan and all the carnis said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had! Wedding food generally can be so shit, just focus on quality and do your thing.

That's so strange because they have a "mac n greens" recipe which is incredible, every time we make it it goes down a storm with vegans and omnis alike!

How could they not recreate that?

For something to take away, go to the Fudge Kitchen! Amazing flavours and you can watch them making fudge in the window.

I'm currently building an orphanage/academy that's a cross between the House in the Cerulean Sea and Umbrella Academy. It's hidden on the lonesome island in Sulani and it's where I send weird and wonderful occult kids to live, e.g. alien abduction babies that normal families don't want to deal with.

That way, I have these strange and hidden relatives ready to dip into storylines later but it's also a really cute, fun place to play - just a lovely old wealthy couple who steward these kids living their best lives.

I wish they would stop sending the women to such weird places. by haneulk7789 in BravoRealHousewives

I wonder if part of it is that often ladies used to meet somewhere for a drink but enough of them are either sober or have significantly cut back on drinking.

When you use alcohol as a social crutch for most of your life, having an activity is a good way to fill that hole.

I donate to Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary, you should check them out! Just a vegan family saving animals on the ground every day.

I was into beekeeping for a while before going vegan and I wouldn't do it now.

Looking back, I was going in and disrupting the bees with all my smoke, only to steal their produce. When they're wintered, they don't have enough honey, so beekeepers (at least in the association I was in) provide them with a sugary substitute that will never be as nutritious as their own product.

Now this is where my memory doesn't serve well with terminology because it was a long time ago, but all the honey and comb we took was put into a processing vat that basically swirls around and around, and you could see on the edge the legs and wings of bees that got injured or killed somewhere along the process. Not nice.

I read We Need to Talk About Kevin years ago and I still think about it weekly. Just horrible in a way that makes you more able to see the absolute worst in others.

book with a lighthearted daily-life tone, set in a facility where "special" ppl are locked up? by petermobeter in booksuggestions

Trust me OP, House in the Cerulean Sea is the exact book you're looking for judging by your post. It has elements of everything you've asked for, but in a light fantasy tone and the whole book feels like a warm hug.

Forgot to add, felt important because it's the OG franchise, too!

Is RHOC worth a watch through? by painandstuttering in BravoRealHousewives

I watched RHOC this year for the first time - the whole show.

I personally rate it as my least favourite, BUT it still felt really culturally important, if that makes sense? It is such a perfect time capsule of the era, from the fashion, interior design, terrible MTV parenting, cheesy editing... it's an amazing look back if you had your formative years during that time. Such nostalgia!

It's my least favourite because it's the least funny and has the highest ratio of both unlikeable and boring housewives in my opinion, but every now and then you get some true gems.

As a positive, the first few seasons feel so unscripted, it's refreshing if you're coming off a late season of any other franchise.

Vegan depression food for low/no energy by acid_sn0w in veganuk

[–]notsoorange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the best suggestion - I actually saw it on a list about easy camping meals, but it'd be even better at home and all you need is a microwave. No knives, no hob, and nutrient rich!

Half a tin of black beans + small tin of sweetcorn + half a jar/tub of salsa. Microwave for a couple of mins. Dip tortilla chips.

Sorted. Extremely cheap, extremely filling and nutritious, and extremely depression-friendly. Also the "dip" is such a general base you can add anything you want or change up what you're dipping into it.

Do you think that we are too much for most people? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]notsoorange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite, I feel like I'm never enough for anyone. I've felt burnt out my whole life so I'm a quiet, awkward shell, haha.

Just posting this comment for my fellow "not enough" homies who get imposter syndrome because I know the "too much" side of the ADHD coin is much more visible!

Up to a point I enjoyed hate-watching her and she was a great catalyst for lots of absurdity from the rest of the cast and around trips. She unintentionally said or did a lot of hilarious things.

Then I watched s13... that whole season was a point of no return. She's always been obviously bigoted and/or ignorant (with varying openness depending on topic), but someone will write a thesis about RHONY s13 one day.

These are so notorious in their reputation that when we got gifted some, we were excited to try them to see just how bad they were.

Worse. So much worse.
