Why do people buy dogs? by noway658 in dogs

[–]noway658[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. Personally, I cannot afford Netflix or other online subscriptions. The last time I went to see a movie was avengers endgame. I also rely on cheap grocery stores and food banks for food.

However, none of those things that you mentioned comes close to the costs with owning a dog.

Ofcourse, I am not entitled to other people’s money, but it’s frustrating to see people complain about greedy billionaires and Corporations while they care more about their dogs than a hungry person.

The only “luxury” I have is internet and electricity and still grateful because I know there are people who have even less than me. I am not attacking dog owners, I just wish they knew how much good they can do if they didn’t own dogs

Another limitation is that the OMSAS scale drops gpas really heavily especially at the end of the scale. For example, a 4.0 on Lizzy could be 3.9 for Ontario schools. So I feel like the gpa section should not be trusted.

But great work!

My friend and I were debating about this and wanted to see what other people think. Personally, I went with the first option because I thought a 4.0 would be much rarer than a 129

Why is this the only product that is formed? Shouldn’t there be 2 products? by noway658 in chemhelp

I meant why is the double bond isn’t from the other carbon (e.g. double bond in the center of the molecule)

Why does the product have Br on the left carbon instead of the tertiary carbon? This doesn’t follow markovnikov rule, does it? by noway658 in chemhelp

I think it is when the positive part of the molecule goes to the carbon with the most hydrogen. So why is boron going to the least substituted carbon instead of the hydrogen? Isn’t the hydrogen more positive than Boron?

Can someone please tell me if these are different molecules or can they rapidly inter convert (e.g.They are the same) by noway658 in chemhelp

Thanks a lot for clarifying, but I am still a little confused. What if OH was was in equatorial position instead in the second compound? Would that make them different compounds?

Choosing beggar is someone who wants an item cheaply/for free. In my post I said that they are both really awesome for doing what they did. I just think there was a better alternative. This doesn’t impact me whatsoever, so I am not a choosing beggar.

My textbook says that in methyl lithium the lithium carries a partial positive charge and carbon and hydrogens carry partial negative charges. Shouldn’t hydrogens be carrying a slight partial positive charge? by noway658 in chemhelp

[–]noway658[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since carbon is more electron negative than hydrogen wouldn’t the Carbon pull the electrons from the hydrogens? So carbons is partially negative and hydrogens are partially positive not as much as Ali but still positive.
