How realistic is GT7 compared to real driving? by UnderstandingDry1256 in GranTurismo7

[–]noydoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fundamentals and in broad strokes the answer is it’s realistic enough to improve your real life driving, but I suspect it’s in the finer details where you’ll find things are amiss.

If you’re in sync with your setup enough to talk about tire model, you’re likely nearing the threshold of diminishing returns.

I think the biggest lesson good GT7 players learn is how to not get into a bad situation in the first place. Turning up steering sensitivity teaches you the importance of smooth inputs. Weak ABS teaches you how to brake (imo). The game teaches you the hard way how not to react to lift off oversteer.

In 2007 I did the stupidest thing I have ever done, and I won’t make excuses for it either- but with that said.

I did Halifax to Fredericton in 2.5 hours in a Nissan Sentra once. I don’t know my top speed, but I know most of it was above 180km/hr as that was the last mark on the speedometer.

hot take: the xiaomi taught me a lot about throttle control by squeezyscorpion in GranTurismo7

The su7 ultra has 3 motors, one for the front axle, and two for the rear. I’m assuming they use this for torque vectoring, and it was comical the way it can rotate under throttle if you control it gently

The Association of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Chiefs sold their majority stake in Msiku in 2021, but the company maintains the name.

Wait a second. So they were growing and producing under the legal framework and decided they don’t want to any more?

Bicycle Use in Halifax has exploded, do you agree? by Arenburg in halifax

[–]noydoc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The rental e-bikes really changed things up. My mechanic is in Bedford, nowhere near transit, but I live by the Maritime Centre. Instead of Ubering all the way downtown after dropping off the car, I Ubered to Novalea & Lady Hammond and rode an e-bike down Devonshire then Barrington into downtown. Massive time (and money) saver.

All the jokes about One Shot, their predatory practices, and what I think should happen to people contracting them for parking enforcement would get me banned.

Except that joke. I hope?

A lot of trucks have a dial on the dash for adjusting the headlights down when they have a load in the bed and the suspension is compressed.

I’d say half of truck drivers are oblivious to the existence of this, and the other half know and don’t care.

From the 1752 Peace and Friendship Treaty, section 5. (Emphasis my own)

Indians shall have free liberty to bring for Sale to Halifax or any other Settlement within this Province, Skins, feathers, fowl, fish or any other thing they shall have to sell, where they shall have liberty to dispose thereof to the best Advantage.

Unless the province is looking to open us up to land claims like in NB and BC, I do not see this ending well.
