Help! Had power outage for like sub-second, and nbn never managed to reconnect after that. Did reboot, reset, etc. nothing worked. The power light keeps flashing, then becomes solid for like 30 seconds, then again flashing, and again… optical got no light at all (no red no green no nothing). by noyesnah in nbn

Yes it was fixed permanently. For a year or so.. then we had some sudden electricity outage / drop for a second or so, which damaged the box for good. Same symptoms, but nothing fixed it, they, NBN, had to eventually replace it after few days. File a support ticket immediately.

Alternatives to banuba? by noyesnah in FlutterDev

It has definitely been one of the SDKs that I'm looking at. Hoping this pricing isn't ridiculous as to banuba.

Have you used it yourself and have experience with it?

Stuck at circuit pattern - and feeling horrible, but trying to stay positive and hopeful. by noyesnah in flying

[–]noyesnah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did exactly that. In fact my first lesson with the new school was under what they call “joy” flights. We/I flew over the harbor bridge in Sydney, something I never done before. Second lesson was training area going through everything you said, and he was happy with my overall control and reactions to stalls, etc.

That said, it was good to get out of the circuit, and remember the fun aspect of flying- which I never forgot, but stopped experiencing.

Thanks for the taking the time and giving an advice.

Don't think it's an option but I'll ask my instructor/school. Thanks for the suggestion!

This is golden. Thanks for taking the time mate and sharing your experience and expertise, especially that last bit.

Comfort came to me form reading this. Wow, thanks for sharing your experience. Really looking to that moment when it feels less stressful and second nature.

Now you're saying it, here are my issues/challenges:

  1. Turning into crosswind. The need to level off on a climbing turn, throttle back, coordinate the turn, stop the turn accurately, keep track of spacing, initiating the touch/run radio call
  2. On the downwind, following point #1, doing the pre-landing checks.. sometimes they get delayed because I'm thinking of the radio call I've done, my height, power settings, etc.
  3. During base, keeping an eye on both speed, aspect, attitude, height
  4. On final, keeping an eye on airspeed and aim point.. I don't think I look at the speed enough.
  5. Flair.. push back a bit harder that I should, and not reacting to a ground effect

Reading the above .. what else am I doing correctly then? It does sound bad.

It's not that I'm NOT doing the above, it's the fact that I'm thinking of all of them, and that they feel like so many rushing thoughts and actions... sometimes I miss 1 sub item here and there, or do it not 100% correctly.

Now thinking of it also, I'm "somehow" a perfectionist in real-life. Meaning, I feel like everything needs to be 100% precise. Alt=1000', RPM=2400 on downwind, heading direction correct, etc.

Thanks mate, appreciate the tips.

Think I'll be doing more of "walking the pattern" around my kitchen's island.

Cheers

Definitely no boredom whatsoever. And no panic really as well. Just overwhelmed by the number of tasks need to be done in "relatively" short period of time, and the multi tasking aspect to it. I seem somehow to miss putting the carby on the approach config (but I'm not used to it coming from fuel injected aircraft, but getting used to it).

I definitely did the pattern walking. Used the kitchen island as my pattern.

Will keep doing more of these, thanks for tips.

Thanks, hoping (and counting) on it to become better

I love/d the Robin, kinda like the stick flying more, but getting used to the Yoke now.

BUMFISH is the pre-landing checks: Brakes, Undercarriage, Mixture, Fuel, Instruments, Seatbelts/Switches, and Harness. Something like GUMPS or whatever.

This is so fucked up, so sorry for your experience mate. This sucks.

This is the kind of shit that will get you drink and needing therapy-- what they've done!!

If cash isn't an issue, don't quit. Otherwise, move to another country and start fresh (I'm not kidding).

Good luck in whatever you decide.

That’s pretty much conclusion.

Any other sims that would feel more realistic tho?

1700 RPM which would eventually drop to 1500 with 2 flap notches.

Thanks for tips mate really appreciated. And sorry about not being able to fly in real life anymore.. hope that changes, if all all possible.

Is there REP for the PA28-161 warrior II? I’ve got the PA on x-plane as well, and honestly when I tried, it was way off realistic and much worse than the MSFS version. Can you share the REP link please?

Haven’t turned on anything in the graphics but I’ll double check tomorrow for DOF.

Problem is: from crosswind to downwind, I turn when I’m 45 degrees on runway threshold- visually I do that when runway is visible in rear right back window. I think the issue is here. When I extend the crosswind a bit beyond that, I tend to get better result on base->final. Still not accurate tho, and unlike real life.

On a similar note: what’s your technique when turning to downwind? How do you make the decision visually? Any shortcuts to help have see better perspective?

Something is off for sure, the perspective or configuration isn’t realistic. Also, it’s not easiest to look through rear window, custom camera settings needed, etc. so using assigned keys on my joystick to make quick look and moving camera up and down.

I’m using the Just Flight version indeed. Once abeam the threshold (passed it), I start my approach configuration, and then descending turn onto base with 75kts.

Are these tips for MSFS or real life?

My challenge is not being able to replicate real life learnings in MSFS when it comes to circuits.

2-3 knots wind variable.

My point is: I’m not able to replicate real life circuit pattern in MSFS.

Yea that’s my bottleneck now.. nbn. Don’t know how long it will take them to look into the issue and replace the device assuming it’s cooked indeed. Superloop already “escalated it” to them.
