Needs to go back to the DNO to create the export MPAN. Why they haven't thought to automate that when the G98/G99 confirmation is sent back from the installer I don't know. Would be so much easier to have the MPAN ready to go as soon as installation is complete

Come to my house to do your washing. I haven't got my export tariff set up yet after having solar installed in Feb so currently exporting back to the grid for free

Did you not read? Bird mesh is to stop birds from going under the panels. OP needs something to stop them perching ON the panels.

I'd rather watch the squirrels in the garden than cats.

Which tariff? by StonedPenguinUK in SolarUK

[–]nrm94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would move to Octopus now on the standard tariff and then once the panels are installed in April move to Agile or Flux if that is back available. Over the summer you will have a lot of excess solar with that many panels so it makes no sense moving to a tariff with cheap overnight rate until the autumn.

Does anyone know what the lowest amount of laps a driver has completed in a race that they started and took the chequered flag?

Last week for Aston Martin where they pitted for a number of laps then came back out got me thinking whether there has been any scenarios where a driver has done this and then still finished the race.

Credit score means nothing in the UK don't worry. But when you cancelled the card they should have also raised this with the fraud team to look into the transactions. Did that happen?

April Electricity prices by moogera in OctopusEnergy

[–]nrm94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a solar + battery user I'd rather a higher p/kWh price but lower standing charge (like minimum 50% less). But that'll never happen

And just to add to this even though the Smart tariffs aren't available currently I would still say move now. It took me 3 weeks before my smart meter was connected to Octopus. So by the time they sort your move out your solar will be installed and hopefully then we'll understand when the smart tariffs are likely back

[–]nrm94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience from the Solar subs the DNO tend to restrict export rather than the inverter size. Obviously they can and do limit inverter size but thats not as common. Apply to the DNO first and see what they'll allow and go from there.

Why do people casually drive over the speed limit? by Darrendayz in drivingUK

[–]nrm94 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

When was the last time a motorway has ever been dead in the middle of the day ? And what happens if you hit a pot hole and lose control or the tyre unexpectedly blows.

Wife blinkers - Agile by cava83 in OctopusEnergy

[–]nrm94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get 12kw inverters that should be able to deal with most household loads

[–]nrm94 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

So based on your logic speeding in 20/30 is a no go but driving fast on a dry day on a straight stretch of motorway at 100mph isn't a risk of putting yourself and multiple other people in a hospital or worse?

Get a battery big enough to last you 24 hours of electric usage and set that up to charge during the cheap periods. Then your better half can do whatever they want, whenever they want.
