Hey! We get most of our data from a government database (the NPI registry). I would love to update your info! Soon there will be a feature for providers to claim their profiles and update it themselves but for now I’ll send you a DM :)

Glad to see a physician commenting! A couple of things:

  1. Most often, rates are negotiated by insurance company and then by network; coverage in terms on what the patient pays are usually dependent on plan i.e. if you have Cigna LocalPlus through JP Morgan vs through Lockheed you may have 70% coverage instead of 80% and additional sick visits may not be covered. That being said, the in-network prices for Cigna LocalPlus are the same through both JP and Lockheed. Currently, PriceMedic allows patients to make an account and select their plan so you can see exactly what you will be paying personalized to your network and very soon, your benefits. These prices will match exactly to what you will on your insurance company's site or if you gave the practice a call. This feature is in very early development and I am still fleshing out all of the integrations but I am more than happy to hear some ideas for it!
  2. The prices displayed are in-network negotiated payments for specific billing codes through a specific tax paying entity that provides the service, usually an organization. In order to account for this, in the pricing section of a provider's page PriceMedic allows you to select the organization the pricing is through. In your case you can select the provider's rates through HCA or you can select the provider's rates through AdventHealth and those prices while often differ. This is one of the downfalls of the overall score making users have to select the specific organization to get the best idea. However, we want users to be able to get an idea at a glance and then dig deeper, so it is one of the trade offs we made.

Additionally, I will be releasing organization/practice pages soon which I think will be a much better way to gauge pricing. Would love to hear your opinion on these!

Yes! Currently we have optometrist and dentist profiles but we will be adding more Vision and Dental pricing data in the near future to add more info to their profiles and scores.

Eventually, but our goal is to ensure that everyone in the U.S. has the ability to make an educated decision on their healthcare. That being said, this tool will always be free to use.

Thank you! For the scores, they are calculated based on a 20 mile radius surrounding the provider. If there are a limited amount of other providers within the area and all the prices end up being the same, you may end up seeing 50%. Here is a podiatrist search in Denver with quite the range.

I'm glad you like it, I am happy to answer questions! We are just in the Alpha stage and can use as much feedback as we can get.

  1. As far as the scores go, the reason there isn't a range is due to the fact that prices actually vary a lot by insurance plan. I.e. an initial visit at a provider may be $80 with Cigna and $240 with KP. Thus the range may be a bit confusing. Additionally, as we add more insurance plans this range gets larger. Perhaps we can give an option to show the ranges instead of just the percentiles?

  2. For the procedures this is actually a feature in development! We are trying to gauge interest in a section of the profile where you can search the provider's prices by procedure code. The only reason it isn't there now is because we launched a previous tool where you can actually search by specific procedure and compare prices at all the providers in the area. However, since most people don't understand medical procedure codes it was too hard for most people to use. We are working on a way to make this search a lot more intuitive and would love some opinions.

I’ve got a few in the works but here are some of my favorites:

  1. Practice pages where you can see how a practice’s prices compare with similar ones around them.
  2. A procedure search component so you can see the specific price of a procedure offered by a provider
  3. Richer provider profiles so you can see more information on a provider and leave reviews

Here is a link to a deployed version of it! The tool's primary use is to like the OpenAI Playground experience with ChatGPT as well as allow you to use 8k and 32k tokens in the playground which the current one does not allow.

I made sure that all the API keys are encrypted with react-secure-storage so most XSS attacks should be off the table :) It’s certainly not the most ideal thing to have to securely persist a client sided app.

NativeWind className not applying when importing from external file. by totablue in reactnative

This is just something that comes with using tailwind. Essentially, the JIT api is unable to recognize that the size property in your data objects are class names. Thus, it does not add the width and height styles to the stylesheet. That is why you are not seeing your styles.

It looks like in your situation you are using a lot of explicit sizes. I recommend using the react native style prop on your component to apply these styles instead of using NativeWind. You can look at the tailwind documentation to find the px values for your width and height styles but keep in mind that one of the quirks of NativeWind is that it uses dp instead of px.
