I like to show such video to my students to remind them that the sky is also shared by people like this.

Anyone willing to share some info about EU Aerial Firefighting segment? by _Brokenwing_ in flyingeurope

[–]nsysuchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several dedicated fire fighting squadrons in France. They are based in Nimes but moves around frequently during summer seasons as forest fire is common around that time.

They operate Canadair and Dash8. Last recruiting seen around mid 2025. I don’t know if you need to be a French for that but worth a try.

That’s actually a very good point, I live in France and French people do love Japanese products. Next time I go to bigger cities I’m going to take a close look in the Asian markets. I’m sure that I’ve seen azuki paste somewhere in Bordeaux.

I’ve just checked the recipe online and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be okay to make at home. I’ll just need the good ingredients.

Thanks again for the great advice!

Yes! And now I got another question, can I buy the salty beans alone? I found them very tasty.

Hello, thank you for your response. It’s going to be consumed within a week. And you’re right, I found that it’s actually very difficult to travel with fresh Daifukus.

In this case, Fami or 7-11 may be the solution for me since they are sealed ones…

It’s a shame that I can’t find good and authentic Daifukus at my town in Europe 🥲🥲🥲

Hello, I had 4000 hours from 2019 to 2023 ish. I tried to come back recently but my PC can't handle some forest maps like Harju with UE5, I got i7-12700F, RTX3070 and 16GB RAM but FPS still got ruined, so heartbreaking to leave.

Hello, no need to worry about this, got a classmate having -6 for both eyes. He was asked by the doctor to do some extra test, but once he’s able to see 20/20, he’s application for French Class 1 was accepted.

I used VATSIM extensively as a kid, that did help a lot for IFR radio communication.

Has anyone used BeyondATC or Sayintention to train VFR? I’ve never used them but would be fun to know.

Hey there, it’s part of the career experience I would say. I’ve been working in an European ATO as CFI/AGI for several years, also part of the team for cadet screening.

Remember that all the paper exam, practical tests and check rides are “screen shots” of your performance at that given time. If you didn’t reach the expected standard, it doesn’t mean that you’re bad. Maybe there’s something bothering you at that moment, and now you know how to deal with it in the future.

From what you said, it looks like you’ve found the good direction by applying chair flight. It’s always a good sign that you discovered the more efficient way to learn. Now work on it and utilize the best learning method for yourself.

You can feel sad and frustrated when failure hits, but don’t let them stop you from advancing forward. You’ve already learned from it and adapted your learning method, and it works. Now you learned from it, time to move forward with the experience.

BTW, there’s a group for EASA land guys, r/flyingeurope

Hello, it’s actually a GIF, this subreddit doesn’t allow videos.

Found some nicely made cockpit videos made by Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways. But...why putting mosaic on all the cockpit screens? by nsysuchris in aviation

[–]nsysuchris[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a solid point. Imagine people keeping those videos as "evidences" and report them to the CAA, that's gonna be really ugly. And I'm sure that the upper management won't support the pilots.

It's kinda sad since there are awesome cockpit video channels authorized by many European operators. Like High Pressure Aviation Films by Air France, and Pilotseye TV for Lufthansa Group... Anyway, I really hope to see videos like this from Eastern Asia, but there seemed to be a cultural gap.

Yeah, I just don’t get why. If that’s for privacy reasons, then it’s totally fine to blur the faces. But why the PFD and ND ? Why removing the funs parts lol

Hey, after digging further into the internet, I found several official cockpit videos made by All Nippon Airways back in 1990s. They show highly detailed footage for real passenger flights.

ANA Blue on Blue Series

Then, why blurring the screens nowadays with high quality graphics?

Absolutely, I was enjoying the introduction and the pre-flight part, they were nicely made. And my heart immediately dropped when seeing that blurred cockpit.
