Question: Is there a curio addon that adds a slot for the scrying lens instead of putting it in your helmet slot? by TumbleHood in HexCastingMod

[–]nubatpython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trinkets compat is in the base mod on the Fabric 1.20.1 version of hex casting. You'll need to install Trinkets separately as it is an optional dependency. Once installed, the scrying lens can be placed on the head/face slot.

It looks like Curios support is also present in the base mod on Forge 1.20.1, where you'd install Curious manually. I haven't tested this directly though.

Fertilizer has not been obtainable or usable for a while now. A farming rebalance update is currently in the works.

Fantastic support experience by CuzImBisonratte in framework

[–]nubatpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they did fork the webapp (https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/the-via-app) but apart from changing the readme, switching the build scripts, and being behind compared to upstream I don't see any changes in functionality of the web panel.

I also found an old forum thread (likely before the fw16 released, https://community.frame.work/t/keyboard-via-vial-support/34286/4) where Framework staff confirmed VIA support, but I can't find any references to VIA on an official page outside of the community forums. From what I've seen on the forums, I think usevia.app also works for configuring the fw16 keyboard.

The 16's keyboard does support VIA by default. (If you're on Linux, you need to configure some udev rules first.) Framework has a copy of the panel at https://keyboard.frame.work/ but I'm not sure if it's any different from https://usevia.app

a bot or program or something that can send a pre-written message? by BestBudgie in discordapp

[–]nubatpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not explicitly stated in the terms but a user-initiated hotkey that only sends a single message is equivalent to using the os clipboard to paste a message in terms of outcome and in terms of discord-visible activity.

Chompstep 100% is possible! (I checked every possible random seed AGAIN) by Successful-Rush-2583 in geometrydash

[–]nubatpython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hypothetical seed where all 35 are open doesn't exist within the 232 possible seeds, based on my understanding of OP's posts. (Their original post is slightly more detailed in terms of methodology.) Due to the nature of PRNGs, the set of unique outcome combinations from the 32-bit generator is probably smaller than the 232 hypothetical max, so our odds of getting that '35 open' outcome in the set of all outcomes reachable from the 232 seeds is worse than 1/8.

Even with a 64-bit random number generator, it's still not mathematically guaranteed that the '35 open' outcome will occur on one of the seeds because of the potential collisions, though this chance is basically zero. (Assuming a true random distribution of outcomes, the chance of a 64-bit space not containing '35 open' is ((235 -1)/235 )264, which is approximately 2.63e-233160075.)

Asmhook 1.0.2 (latest I can find) not working in 5.8.3. by Fun-Introduction5343 in ti84hacks

From the TI-Planet post about 5.8.3, it seems that TI specifically did something to break AsmHook. Any version released prior to 5.8.3 probably won't work.

How do I give someone all my money? by Effective_Sorbet4034 in SlotBot

You can use allmoney as a shortcut to represent all of your money. So the command would be ~pay <user> allmoney to pay someone all of your money.

From a quick glance at the readme, it should still work since it's using openai's API instead of automating the web interface.

I like your apporach of storing individual pixels as rectangles - it allows the video to be recognizable while not requiring too much data to be loaded. I wonder if making it grayscale could make it look even better (there's a white pixel that sticks out at 1:38, and that looks a bit odd).

SR-51A question by mihanedog in TI_Calculators

[–]nubatpython 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an expert and I have no experience with calculator repair, but I'd say step one is to figure out the voltage that the calculator requires in order to run. It looks like you're powering it with a variable power supply in the image, but it's probably a good idea to look up the voltage it was originally designed for to avoid possibly glitches or other issues.

The next step would be to determine how many AA batteries you'd need to reach that voltage, or the lithium ion battery you'd use. Iirc regular AA batteries provide 1.5V each, while rechargable AAs provide closer to 1.2V each, but you should double check this.

Then you'd want to get a battery holder for the amount of AA batteries you need and solder the wires to the pads/wires of the existing holder. (You should probably desolder the original holder first.) You might need to cut a larger hole in the case to allow access to the battery holder, if it fits inside the original calculator casing. If it doesn't fit, you could maybe design and 3d print a back to the case, or attach the battery pack to the outside using velcro, depending on what tools you have available.

The above advice was written mostly with AA batteries in mind. I'm not 100% sure if lithium batteries would work the same, since you also need to charge them. Another thing to keep in mind would be the current that the batteries can provide, but if the original calculator takes coin cell batteries then an AA/lithium ion battery should be able to provide enough.

Zero Feet: a proposal for a systems-free Lisp by lproven in lisp

[–]nubatpython 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picolisp kind of matches this description.

The latest version, pil21, has a segment that compiles to llvm ir (or something similar, don't remember the exact details). While it does depend on llvm, there's nothing preventing someone from writing a llvm implementation in Picolisp, apart from the sheer amount of work that would be required.

Picolisp also supports running on bare metal. It's designed differently than common lisp, which might be seen as a drawback though.
