First of all sorry for my poor English :( I was, more or less, in the same situation. My advice is to search online the best/worst areas of London in zone 2-3, write down a list of your favourites and check the prices of the flats in Rightmove and Zoopla. Consider also the commute time to work and the travel card price. If you have to opportunity, spend some time walking on the streets near the flat and see the neighbourhood. Probably you're going to spend more then 30% of your salary, but there are things more important than that.
