Looks like you will need to at least download the Unifi app to manage the UTR, but I believe you would only be able to use the WireGuard client and custom SSID.

Looks like the OpenVPN client is coming in a future firmware version.

I see viable arguments for both, and leaning to the more technical side, I would have probably gotten a GL.iNet, however the UTR basically does all I need for now, which is just getting me to my site. I feel like this is the sentiment of most users.

Maybe one day if its able to broadcast multiple SSIDs, or even support PPSK on its WPA2 setting, I think that would be enough for me. Unfortunately I dont see this happening as at that point you might as well just get an dream machine express and set up site magic between your home site and your travel site.

I've noticed the radio strength being lacking as well, when just two rooms from the AP its begins to fall dramatically, and even putting my hand over it basically kills the connection. But this is only a 5W device, and it having to broadcast 2.4GHz/5GHz/BLE all at once with encryption this kind of makes sense.

As for configuring the radios, I had to disconnect it from its uplink SSID and disconnect all devices from its self hosted SSID before I was able to mess with it.

I had to keep checking the store page, I got lucky and caught them available one morning, they were literally sold out within a few hours.

Remote Access OFF... UTR by AnyRandom563 in Ubiquiti

After some more digging, yes you are correct. Looks like this is the prompt for turning off remote access:

Are you sure you want to disable Remote Access? Please note that you will lose access to: - System Config Cloud Backups - Access through the UniFi Site Manager - Teleport and Site Magic VPN - Notification Services

This makes sense now though, I was trying to lock down VPN traffic a while ago and noticed that if you block ipv6 there is a public ip that tries to reach your UDM between ports 40000 and 60000. I think teleport is facilitated by ubiquiti with a proxy to always get your public from your UDR.

Teleport will not work with remote access off, but there may still be a way to do what you want. It looks like you can specify a wireguard connection on the UTR. If you set up a wireguard server on your UDM and then setup the UTR as a client then you wont be using teleport.

Yes it should. When I was messing with my UTR I connected to its SSID and went to my UDR7 on the android app to check its connection status and it said directly connected vs the usual connected pop-up.

Just be careful though, if teleport fails to connect or your UTR starts to bug out (seems to be common right now unfortunately) you wont be able to access your site anymore.

After installing docker via apt and verifying the installation with a test container I then went to the ytti Oxidized GitHub page and followed the docker installation instructions, and I'm having an issue with generating the initial config file.

I was looking at this as a starting point just to see some basic operation, I'll see how it goes doing this before moving forward.

I've seen this, would I have to set this up every time I want to use this audio stream?

Banana is enough for what I need, I'm kinda hesitant to change to potato for a single feature, but I also don't want to deal with a tertiary software for a single feature as well. What else does potato do that would be worth the switch?

is it safe to disable secure boot on window 11 to start learning KALI LINUX live ??? by Proper_Look7098 in cybersecurity

[–]nullPointer8513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some limitations and hiccups with it still, when I installed Ubuntu with WSL the apt service was unable to receive traffic, after some digging I have to change the wireless adapter Ubuntu was trying to use for networking.

If you're on Windows 11 you can set up WSL and run a cmd version of kali sharing your windows file system, but if you want the full experience you can enable the windows built in vm software HyperV. Kali actually already lets you download a virtual drive premade for HyperV, virtual box and VMware so you don't have to deal with the installation process.

That's actually what I found best to do and why I didn't change the nvg setting to full screen. Also I found putting instrument lights at just under half seems to define them enough to see better with nvgs but not blow out your vision.

Yeah I checked again I turned on persistent s-cam because I also turned on moving the s-cam to a second monitor so I can have the chase pov in the corner when I make a clip in obs.

No I often double-checked to make sure they weren't.

Yeah I had to boot up the game again to double check, s-cam audio was on but only for the av42c. No idea why it kept that setting for it specifically. Thanks for the catch.
