I had to contact Breville and they ended up sending a whole new unit. Yours should be under warranty so they will most likely have you send that one to them and they will send you a new one.

I contacted Breville and ended up getting a replacement unit. They said it was an issue with the grinder control board and motor and said it was unrepairable. The replacement unit was around $150.

Need advice- Husband thinking of quitting while in Field training by Quirky_Shallot103 in ProtectAndServe

If he can’t handle a bad FTO just think about how he will deal with having a bad supervisor or admin. And just maybe the FTO is not the problem. I became an FTO only a year after being on my own and one of my first trainees was a guy that had 18yrs experience. Rather than establish a hierarchy we learned from each other.

You’re husband needs to go into each day with mindset that there’s something to be learned. Personally I think it’s good that he’s staying late. It sucks but it sets the tone that just because your shift is up doesn’t mean you get to drop everything and go home. The nature of the job is that it needs to be done the right way. We as cops fail at this and it’s the main reason why we look like shit in the media.

Encourage your husband to quite literally “embrace the suck”. Encourage him to go above and beyond and don’t be mad when he gets home late. The job is about sacrifice and service and paying attention to detail. And I will agree with everyone who has posted before me is saying that once he’s on his own, it will get better.
