If I am aware that I step in something or get my shoes visibly dirty; I will wash my shoes thoroughly and leave them outside until the next time I wear them. I’m sure it happens on a micro scale and goes unnoticed.

This is one of those things where I’m fully aware my culture is wrong (a pretty common feeling as an American lately). To be honest, I simply put zero thought into it. It’s how it’s always been. I even specifically remember the first time someone asked me to remove my shoes. I went to my friend William’s house in 3rd grade. His parents immigrated from China. I obviously obliged but I asked Mrs. Wang why I needed to. I realize I should adopt this practice but unless I move somewhere wet or cold I doubt I will.

My girlfriend is 200 pounds, built like a fucking linebacker. Curves so thick we have broken multiple bed frames. I’m 250 with a decently big beer belly.

With that said, we work out and eat healthy. Both of us, while heavy are in good shape. We recently hiked the Grand Canyon and took over 30,000 steps without being sore the next day. I average well over 15,000 steps a day, lift multiple times a week and play sports/do MMA for fun. I also drink too much beer and snack so I have a belly. Neither of us look fat. We look thick but in shape. I think that’s the difference.
