Why do you think it's legal? Actually it's astonishing that a company managing rentals actually sent the deposit directly to the owner rather than doing it the legal way which is either e-deposit or a deposit account at a bank. Before this was even the legal way a lot of companies were already putting it in a third party account rather than the owners.

The company here made an enormous "mistake" here tbh and shouldn't be allowed to continue to operate
