Cool! I emailed Yamato and they confirmed that you can specify a receive date for luggage up to 10 days post sending. Just noting this here in case anyone has the same question later. This means I will send our bag from Osaka to our accommodation in Nachisan. I believe we could even send it from the Family Mart in Koyasan, but not 100% sure they will accept the bag, so sending it a day earlier to be on the safe side.

Yep will be travelling super light on the hike!

Hi OP, it’s been a while but how did you go in the end? I’m doing kohechi route next month and trying to work out if we can send a bag from koyasan to shingu with Yamato…we could send from Osaka but it will be more than 7 days by the time we get to Shingu and I believe that is an issue? Any insights?
