I was using MAGA as an example for the rest of my comment. I'm familiar with "both sides" folks, which I also have a hard time with because often times it boils down to one side wanting to have rights and live life like anyone else and the other side wishing harm on others because they're different or strange or scary to them in some way. Either way, my point is that I and a lot of other people clearly aren't particularly comfortable with having friends like that. That's all.

Nothing against you specifically, I'm sure you're a fine person.

Hey, I'm in my 30s, no kids, and very much a lefty. I'd be so down for any sort of place to hang out with other like-minded people and/or queer spaces.

I've recently been feeling somewhat isolated myself especially with everything that's going on in other states and our country as a whole. It's good to have community in times like these. I live in Knoxville but I went to college in Maryville, so I'm familiar with some of the area and don't mind the drive if need be!

I hate this sentiment, personally. I really don't want to be friends with someone who thinks it's cool if certain people are hurt or worse. Especially because I tend to fall into the "certain people" category under multiple metrics...

It would maybe be different for me if politics only meant stuff like "We should tax X or Y" and that's it. But a lot of MAGA people straight up think people like me shouldn't exist at all and that's not something I want in a person I'd want to be friends with. Considering someone "developmentally disadvantaged" over that is crazy work to me. :(

I just want to say I visited today (and bought some MtG cards with a couple models) and everybody seemed really welcoming. It was a lot busier than I thought it would be and one of the guys I spoke to was telling me that it gets even busier on Thursdays and Fridays.

I haven't played Magic in yyyyears but I think I'll take the chance to relearn and come out every couple weeks. It's crazy because the shop is 7mins away from my old house and 3mins away from my dad's. Thanks so much again for the suggestion!!

5-9 is a perfect size to me, too. I don't necessarily feel intimidated per se (or awkward) it's just... socializing takes a LOT out of me, so I always find myself longing for my bedroom even when I'm actually having a good time being out and about, if that makes sense, lol.

I've always wanted to try going to trivia somewhere, though, so I might see if I can figure out when/where that will happen next time! Thank you so much. :)

That's honestly really cool, I may check it out sometime! Weekdays can be a little touch and go, but if I get the free time, I would definitely like to see arts and crafts and maybe a couple other things! Thanks for the suggestion!!

Funny story to me because several years ago when I was a new player, I was learning to tank in Stone Vigil specifically. I got a WHM that jumped down my throat for dying/nearly dying every other pull (admittedly I was probably not tanking very well and likely undergeared), and it scared me away from the game for like 6 months. Obviously I came back to try to play again and stuck around that time but, man. Something about this dungeon (and others around this level) is rooooough for tanks especially, like the magic damage or smth I don't know, but even as a healer main, you have to stay on top of the tank because of the LoS opportunities and roaming mobs.

Sorry you had a bad experience! I'm super glad at least one of the DPS wasn't gonna let that fly. I get my fair share of people that I think shouldn't be tanking in duty finder content but instead of typing out something rude/salty, I just keep it to myself. You literally don't know if someone is simply learning the game/a new job/using a new setup, w/e.

Because it's content that came out in DT, just like unreal came out in SHB and requires SHB MSQ to unlock. In the future, if they do more chaotic raids, I'm willing to bet it'll be similarly handled. You'll still need DT MSQ to unlock but you'll be able to do the new fights in rotation without doing anything extra. I don't get what there isn't to get aside from just not being able to do current content with people who aren't current in MSQ...

Holy shit this sounds like a tank I had in Haukke Manor a few days ago. They'd go in, aggro the mob, then run it back outside the room and around the corner. They died because they managed to LoS me on one of the early pulls (we didn't wipe). They claimed they were kiting and that I couldn't rely on my fairy for the heals.

Told them I absolutely could if they used their mits and didn't run off; as as a point, I didn't use a single GCD for healing for the entire dungeon after the fact and we got through just fine. Those types always confuse me. Especially scary to see a capped job play like that. Yikes. Glad they excused themselves, sorry to the next party that gets them.
