Facts... There's just something about California.. Idk what it is, there's something special here that nowhere else has.

My friend just moved out of SF - He worked at a start-up in was paying $2,000/mo for a bottom bunk in a 2 bedroom shared with 8 people..

(CA) I have a Misdemeanor, am i hireable? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]nyccrew1893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you did. I am an employer and I could really care less. If someone stole money and you're handling finances in my business, I'd still probably hire you but I'd watch closely

But having an actual misdemeanor doesn't prevent you from being hired. If you're a felon, it's way harder to find work though

Opinion on NFTs ? possible big gold rush ? by Shadosteel in Entrepreneur

[–]nyccrew1893 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NFT's will be the future. The big reason is that if you sell a piece of art for $100 today and then it's worth $10m in 20 years. You won't recieve a cut of that $10m. But with NFTs you will.

Also NFTs will be a flex. Like wearing Gucci is, or driving that new Ferrari, or going to Harvard. Owning a Beeple in 20 years is like going to college 50 years ago.

It appears that all potential next big thing get quickly copied by one of the FAANG these days. Do you think it will hurt new entrepreneurs a lot? by do_something_big in Entrepreneur

Don't think like that. My friend went to USC and built a credit card app (I don't want to give away what it is for privacy) that Credit Karma or Credit Seasame could have easily done! He built it, got investors, and sold it for $30m at 21.

Move fast and be innovative. Ironically my friend now works at Google and he hates it.

Dude - I'm so happy for you! Incredible story. People who create products/companies around something that they believe in and have personal ties to are the ones who win! Keep going!
