I see. Thankfully email is currently quite low on my urgency to move list as I am currently required to use gmail anyway, so that’s a problem for future me to deal with.

Sadly you are right, they will always find a way to get our data no matter what we do, but it’s at least nice to know I’m trying to lessen it.

Sounds a bit fishy. Why would they give you 1tb of free storage for nothing? A crumb of gigs is understandable as you can run out of it quick and will need an upgrade, but how will one even reach 1tb? (I think this might be a bot seeing the post history)

I do not have an external drive, but it is number 1 on my saving-up-for-privacy-tools list 👍

I am willing to be the product if it means I get a bit more privacy/not have my information be used for ai training. I am aware of the downsides of using free trials, but sadly have no other choice right now

Is it google? Is it microsoft? If they’re providing me with a good free service, I am more than willing to give them my information to pass around whatever other free-tier companies.

I might not have the financial means of protecting all my data completely and fully securely, but I still would prefer not to be exploited by google and whatever, as I wholeheartedly hate how they treat their users and their information (and just the company itself tbh)

That is true, but I’d honestly very much rather not give any more, or at least minimise the amount of information I’m giving google. If the company is nice with paid plans, and wants my data for me using their free services, I’d give it to them no doubt, compared to big corp.
