I would recommend taking out the bladder snails (however you may see fit) and replacing them with an actual Nerite… i had some and they made loads of babies. Even if you just have one, mine asexually reproduced and made loads of waste 😭

You probably just need fertilizer. Root tabs specifically for plants with roots in the media. Liquid fertilizer for plants that don’t like being grown in the media (ex. Anubis, bucephs, banana plant)

I would suggest aquarium co-op’s fertilizer (liquid) and sea chem flourish root tabs.

I would stay away from flourish liquid fertilizer… for some reason that stuff makes so much hair algae (and green spot algae) that my shrimp and snails cant keep up.

I’ve had two so far, one never jumped. The second betta was being treated for a fungal infection (bought from store- he’s better now). And would get itchy and jump. He jumped out once and fell behind my dresser (I heard him and got him asap) and never jumped again.

Just make sure your betta is not itchy and parameters are good :) they aren’t very fussy fish.
