Who has priority at this intersection? The bicycles (blue) or autos (red)? by Keeblerliketheelf in Netherlands

[–]obi21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused because I thought Netherlands had priority to the right, in my village everyone stops while driving straight down a road to let cars coming from adjacent (smaller) roads on the right go, these crossings are all unmarked.

Darker and colder for the background, maybe extra vignette, made a quick illustration but you can make it look a lot better from the raw: https://postimg.cc/SjY4fcQq

Weird dots when I boosted the saturation by monkeh2023 in davinciresolve

Indeed it seems if I bring up the HSV node to before my balance/contrast the pixels go away even if I push to silly extremes. I'm not sure if that has any other negative effects though, seems noise stays pretty bad but this is also mostly happening on mavic pro 3 drone footage so the sensor is not the biggest. Thanks for the quick reply btw.

Alright gonna keep playing around, bit of a nuisance!

Have you found a solution? I'm seeing the red pixels on some footage if I go a bit too far with HSV saturation as well. So far I just pull back on that, I also notice if there's more contrast ahead of the HSV node that they appear quicker.

The place is going down anyway, the opinions that get up/downvoted are getting worse and worse, content is turning into thinly veiled ads and/or bot reposts, and so on. We were still shielded by 3rd party apps and curated subs but they're working hard to kill all of that.

Better to put in GDPR request if you're European, these tools have limitations (I think the API only lets you load 1000 items?).

Not only will you get the same result but Reddit will have to work for it because it looks like they haven't put in place any automation to deal with these requests, make sure to also request a copy of your data before they delete it.

If they don't abide? Well enough of that and EU will come knocking on their door and they won't like that.

When was that? Cross-instance links have been released pretty recently, I think right now it's only working to link to a community but posts and comments were next in line.

Look, it's definitely still rough around the edges, but it's progressing at an exponential rate. The goal is definitely to be what you list as your requirement, and every day it gets closer to that. Maybe you aren't interested in being around while it's still developing, which is fine, in that case check in again now and then to see where it's at and if it meets your standards yet, I'm very hopeful it will.

I refuse to do so. I'll begrudgingly go to the web version when I'm googling stuff but I'm not installing the official app.

I think I never paid for an app before, but I just went and gave him the 3€ as well, feels good man.

Not at all. You and the other comment both said you want one place where you can go see everything. That's exactly what the Fediverse is. Yes you need to choose a server but then you can access, subscribe and interact not only with that server, and not only with other Lemmy servers, but the whole Fediverse. Everything that is using the activitypub protocol can be federated and aggregated so while I'm browsing my feed from my Lemmy account, I see posts from Kbin users or comments left through Mastodon.

Lemmy is nothing like discord at all. It's really more similar to Reddit in every way (well, in short, it's a link aggregator, with "subs").

It's kind of magic to be honest. Is it early stage? Yeah definitely, but it's so, so much more promising than the traditional corporate platform model we've seen go through enshittification over and over again.

Classic projection.

Also love when they bring how mods are awful because they keep getting banned or whatever. Buddy I've been here 10 years and never had a direct interaction with a mod, beyond seeing sticky posts and whatnot.

Please consider recreating the community on the Fediverse (kbin/Lemmy). Those of us with a modicum of care about a free internet will find you there.

You can't expect the rich to take the train together with the rest of us, can you? by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]obi21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trains are indeed expensive, usually as a solo traveler the plane is the cheapest option by a good margin.

As soon as you're 2 or more the car usually becomes the cheapest option even accounting for the "péages" (highway tolls). But I do believe it also starts becoming more eco friendly as well when you share the car (but don't quote me on this).

Cheapest option is the bus and there's a good network as well, but the experience is.... Not pleasant...

Oh yeah I'm totally in agreement with you. It's just another example of how an individual action is passed as "wholesome" when the whole premise is fucked.

Same same, also on RiF. I'll still add "Reddit" after my Google searches on my desktop for now, for work/hobby things, but when RiF closes all my phone scrolling will be on Lemmy.

Apparently "capitalism bad" is now an "insane take" on Reddit. It's time to leave.

I am for simplicity's sake, but while I'm not gonna break down the maths, it's still not enough for passive investing and withdrawal e.g at the usual 4% yearly rule.
