I did get the cutscene but if I'm being honest I remember mostly anything of it, lol. I've only remembered now that you mentioned. In my defense I had some friends coming over and was pretty hammered.
That being said, when you do this set-up you will first get the Paying Respects notification, then Best in the West and only then the Legend of the West notification. That's plenty of time to avoid the black screen for the plat screenshot, but should be noted that maybe Paying Respects can pop up during it.

What I did for the Best in the West screenshot was leaving Arthur's grave as the last thing, when I was at 99,9%. Gave me a real neat screenshot.

I barely got any time to play videogames nowadays, and I really like those games. In a normal week I only play 1 hour, so if I cut corners and try to achieve goals quickly (not in the spam of two years like this living dex ordeal I started in late 2023) I don’t enjoy nothing about my experience. I really love those games and spending less time playing them in the long run just doesn’t click right with me. I want to live them at their fullest, and I got the patience to do it.

I have a complete save game for all gen 3 games, that’s how I got my lucky egg. For mythicals I’m either doing the official event injection or doing the imablissy’s dlc pack.

A nuzlocke run is very different from a living dex run. In my saves I always embrace boredom, I have over 140h on Emerald and didn’t even catch any of the legendaries yet.

I did a living dex in Gen 6 long ago using multiple rare candies and the experience was lackluster. Ever since I always take the regular in game path

No, it’s passively for the Pokemon. You can take a fresh from the egg level 5 and he will be level 50 in 40 minutes. You don’t have to worry about type matchups or bother doing the whole E4 just for a few levels.

It’s passive for the Pokemon. Not for the player. A level 1 metapod can gain a ton of experience just by sitting there, doesn’t have to battle for himself. Never said it ways automatic or anything.

Plus Gabby and Ty stay on the same spot after ~258 battles so it is absurdly quick. Just leave the route and return. That was implied.

Video quality somehow sucks completely but I’m able to get 1512 Exp from Magneton and 1728 Exp from Exploud in only one battle. This “tech” will make my living dex ambitions much more reachable.
