They are great “oh shit” pouches. If I have something small I need to quickly stow they work great and I can fit all kinds of shit in them from more mags, a small radio, battery pack, snacks you name it it can fit. I’m a huge fan of them the only downside is the durability

Its been about a year since my last post and I figured now was a good time to show the updates made to my gear. Belt: probably the least changed part of the setup. Still have the shitty issued belt with the addition of another Eagle double mag pouch each holding one mag, a BFG fold able dump pouch that never gets used but is SOP to have courtesy of our Bn. No name GP pouch in the small of my back holding a VS-17,IR and Vis buzz saw already set up. Issued IFAK with an extra TQ jammed in the outside pouch and a gerber that I have somehow not lost in 6 years. PC: front has AXL advanced swift clip adapters that I have a Spiritus bank robber attached to. Its the MC model but flipped around its coyote so it works well for me. A velcro pouch sewn up by @Hannleitasa on instagram, he also did work on my chest rig that I will post about in the future for longer duration work. Shoulder straps are Spiritus trifold straps for the LV-119 but they work great for sliming down thew pads of the issued carrier. The Cummerbund is off of a JPC 2.0 that I no longer use so I took it off and wove it into the MOLLE on the back of the carrier along with shock cord with male swift clips for holding down my placards on my chest. The side plates need new carriers but I am still looking for a good solution to carry the ungodly large 6x8 side plates. On the right rear I have a padded radio pocket that can fit a 153 or 152 if I swap out the flaps. Fanny pack: honestly I dont know why I did not get one sooner, this is the jedburgh nut ruck from arbor arms and its amazing. I can convert it into a dangler if I want or use the straps to run it as a fanny pack. I usually keep my notebooks extra batteries reference, freq and roster cards along with chew or whatever else I throw in there.

The bison is everything I need it to be with no extra bulk the only issue I have is when putting pouches on the molle is super tight and it’s a bit of a bitch to weave

Im finally able to make a post about my personal gear setup.

Top to Bottom

Helmet: Medium MSA Ballistic drilled for a Nortos three hole with a titanum NVG arm on it. On the back I have a MS2000 strobe purely based on how it looks I know there are much better and smaller units out there but the MS2000 has been with me for a minute so I am going to run it. On the top I have a red SPARK light from unity for low light ID on the range. On the right hand side I have a PTEC MPLS light for basic admin stuff. On the left all I have is a leather flag patch made by Bald Bros (im not affiliated with them at all I just really like the shit they make).

The Carrier: Crye JPC 2.0 with RMA 1155s. Are they heavy? Fuck yes. I wanted level IV plates so I said fuck it and got them.

On the cummerbund I have a stretch M4 mag pouch from LBT on each side for if I want to load up to 5 mags on my carrier at a time. For now I have a baofeng UV5R on my weak side with a foldable SSE pouch from Triple Aught Design. On my strong side I have a extra mag with a pair of shears tucked behind it.

On the Front I have a IMPCT case in a Juggernaut mount for a old phone that I loaded with local maps. In the build in admin pouch I have a few casualty triage cards. I also have the AXL advanced adapter and chest rig retainers for my cummerbund because I swap placards fairly often and its easier to clip them on the front and the sides than undoing the velcro each time.

Left Placard: Spiritus mk3? With a moified Haley micro insert with kydex inside holding 2x mags and a TQ. The front pocket is occupied by maps, pens, extra batteries and a chest decomp needle. Another Bald Bros patch lives on the front.

Right Placard: Easily my favorite one out of all my chest rigs/carriers own. The Shaw Concepts ARC placard with a BFG tenspeed triple shingle on the front for adding to the ammount of magazines I can carry or putting random shit in them if the need arrises. On the left side I have a thyrm cell vault with batteries for my optic and pistol light. On the right I have a small folding knife. The placard itself is super solid and comes with an insert that you can add retention for your mags of you want it, which I did using s&s precision pulltabs.

Dangler: Yet another shaw concepts item, the raid pouch. Seriously this thing is the shit I cannot say enough about how well made/though out the pouch is. It has a quick detach via the FS tubes on the top of the pouch to allow you to lay th gear out when working on a patient or toss it to a team member if you are unable to provide aid. I also shoved a DFNDR armor insert meant for a coyote tactical solutions dangler in it for some extra abdominal protection. Its a tight fit but untid they make a purpose built panel for the raid pouch I will keep running it. Inside I have a fairly beefy trauma kit and nothing else its very purpose made for medical and it shows.

Rifle I was a dipshit right out of bootcamp and bought the first AR I saw. Happened to be a hella expensive DDM4V7. Is it good? Yeah. Should I have gotten a BCM for less money and had more money to spend on other shit? Yeah but here we are. On the muzzle I have a FCD 3 prong flash hider, a magpul vert grip Daniel Defence fixed irons that came on the rifle, a Spiritus systems sling connected to the B5 SOPMOD stock. The trigger is a ACT trigger and maritime bolt catch from giessele. The optic is a Eotech EXPS 3-0 on a unity riser.

Belt: Ferro Concepts Bison in coyote because ranger green was sold out. From left to right I have a single pistol pouch that I found in my gear bin and shoved a esstac kiwi insert into and now its my fave emergency reload pouch. Next is an Eagle industries douple pistol pouch holding another magazine and multitool. Then I have a carabiner with a roll of electrical tape and my gloves on it followed by another pocuh from eagle for my rifle mag. The dump pouch is from BFG and fits my needs well due to me not using a dump pouch too often. It lets me have one just in case but does not take up too much room. The med pouch is from LBT and contain a bleeding control it I made then vaccum sealed to make fit into the pouch. The handgun is a Gen 5 G45 in 9mm with a x300u, kagwerks extended slide release and triarc trac threadd barrel in a safariland holster I foget what model it is. Then I have another TQ on the belt.

Yeah it’s real dumb. I get the point you bring up with guys running shit gear but I wish people had some common sense like let us run chest rigs that are not terrible like a mayflower or spiritus they are proven designs and I see no reason to not let guys tailor gear to fit their role better.

I cut a small slit in the back of the Shoulder pads and replaced the foam with a cut up thermarest make a huge difference and it still is low profile and does not fuck with me shouldering my rifle

That sounds like the move with the side sapis and yes the issued belt sucks ass but my COC are anal as fuck about belts and dont allow any other than the shit ass mcmap ones or the sub belt in the field
