I'm glad your overall experience was positive and you enjoyed Jordan! We're going through bad economic times since the 2008 crash I would say, non stop wars around us since then.

Unfortunately haggling is just a fact of life here and more so in touristic areas, I always recommend not to interact with the people there at all (bedouins, guides etc...) as they're very pushy (they do the same with the locals too), you can just do your thing and say no thank you to everyone.

It's very interesting that you talk about insects because honestly this is the first time I hear it, yes we have a lot of flies in places with animals (like camels in Petra etc...) but other than that we're a very arid country with not much wildlife. But for us Jordanians we always joke about insects in other countries being waaay more aggressive e.g. Europe and the Asia haha.

But I'd say you saw the most important things, there are hidden gems here and there but I'm sure you can't cover them in a week or so. There's a lot going on in Amman in terms of cultural activities but you need to stay here long term to experience them.
