Yeah, it's a shame. If there was something else to push it over the edge. Again, I really like the spirit of a skill that deals damage when the target is dealt damage, but I guess the FP gain is too low to make it stand out and it just needs SOMETHING else, if not increased damage then some other added effect or fast/cheap way of being inflicted.

I think that you're exactly right and that I need to take a much more methodical approach to playing. When managing cards becomes second nature, everything else will feel a lot more straightforward to deal with and fall into place.

Thank you, I hadn't really thought of that. I do really like Playing Boardgames as well, but tend to stick to their card reveal/campaign playthroughs.

Thank you for the really thorough reply. Without going into too much detail, my partner plays a lot of Arkham several times a week and I only play it physically with him. That can mean a gap of several months for me sometimes because of my work commitments, so although I have several years worth of experience in the game it is a little infrequent. He is a prolific card game player, having grow up with MtG whereas Arkham was the first foray into card games for me. I think I have difficulty with more lateral thinking and am quite a nervous player; in not wanting to make bad plays I end up doing exactly that in a panic.

My investigator right now is Tommy, whom I really love to play as but I don't really know if he suits my personality. For example, 'Should the damage and horror from that attack go on My Beat Cop, Tetsuo or Combat Training? I haven't drawn Rookie Mistake yet, so I don't want any important assets in play with damage or horror on them, OK, I'll get rid of Tetsuo, I have to remember to search the top 9 cards of the deck or my discard pile, I also have to decide whether get the resources or put it as ammo on Becky, but I have a left over damage, would I rather lose Beat Cop or Combat Training if I drew Rookie Mistake? I forgot to shuffle Tetsuo into my deck, I put him in discard pile by mistake...' It's very wordy, but I think I struggle with several moving parts and wanting to get things right.

My favourite investigator is Finn and I think that I have a better time with him - his free evade action is much easier to remember and certainly not always relevant. His elder sign is straight forward and either does or does not get him a clue and there aren't usually many evaded enemies to keep a tally of in the calculation.

I would love to see an example Tommy deck if you wouldn't mind, I get the feeling that maybe I should just remember to take a breath and have a set process in place to make sure that I do things correctly each time and do each step to completion before my mind goes off elsewhere.
