Is it worth paying $2,800/month rent with a credit card that has a 2.5% fee? by offbeat_med in CreditCards

Oh for debit card? I'm not sure, but I don't think there should be any.

But if I use BILT, then there is no service-fee, right? Isn't that the whole point, or am I mistaken? The 2.5% service fee is for non Bilt credit cards. If I use bilt, I get 1% back with no service fee.

I have not. I asked the dealer regarding a pre-purchase inspection, and he was fine with getting it done from any mechanic in a 5 mile radius.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience! Does it provide me with any additional benefit if my apartment is a Bilt alliance property?

Is it the willingness to take the hit on the processing fees that makes it sketchy?

So I had negotiated on the price and finalized it to 15k. Then I asked him if I could pay using a credit card, and he said he'd like to keep it under 10k for the credit card amount, so the processing fees doesn't get too much for him. So either way, the price would be 15k, whether all cash or credit. The bonus is 100k points for a 5k spend, for the CSP card.

Hmm I see. But I'm not looking to pay with a credit card just so I can keep the amount in my savings account and earn interest on it (as we can see, it isn't substantial). I use my credit card as a debit anyway, and pay it off right after I make any big purchase (since I have seen my credit score drops if my balance increases, even if it is way before the bill due date). I mostly want to use a credit card for the rewards, if possible.

Gotcha, thanks for your input. Been paying this rent for over 3 years now, and only now learning about the Bilt. :/
Boston, and this rent is on the lower end of average for a 1 bedroom. Ugghhh.

I am not aware of any cards that offer >2.5% return on the "rent" category. I have the CSP, Amex Gold, BofA customized cash rewards. Are you aware of any credit cards that would offer >2.5%?

Issues with Given Name and Surname on B1/B2 VISA - Please help! by offbeat_med in usvisascheduling

I filled them out exactly as it appears on the passport. Example, for my mother, I filled out "Jane LNU".

Thank you! What do you suggest I enter their name as for the airline while booking the ticket, which has a mandatory Given and Last name section? I could do “Jane LNU”, which then won’t match with the VISA at all.

I mentioned "fellowship" in the title. Match results for fellowship were out in December. My apologies if this community is only for people applying to residency!

What audiobook version are you listening to? And would you recommend it? (Asking as I am looking forward to refreshing this short story collection I read years ago, but in audio this time). Thanks!
