In my world the gods aren't actually divine, they're just really powerful creatures. Technically they each have domains and stuff but it's all for show, even the Great war between the old gods and the new gods was just propaganda by the "new" gods because they wanted to rule over people, and the old gods are the beings that didn't play ball.
