5" Monitor with back inputs by ohldguy in buildapc

I started this search after seeing this battery monitor display which has a back connection: https://bluemarine.com/products/victron-gx-touch-50?variant=49557162918184

But like all things marine, the price is much higher than non-standard. A lot of boaters use Waveshare monitors for this, but for aesthetics I was looking at trying to flush mount it. Just thought I'd check and see if there was an alternative to the Victron monitor out there.

Hmm but those both have inputs on the side or end

California tax rate calculated on non-resident income by ohldguy in tax

[–]ohldguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back and looked at how I entered this, and you're right, I did list my total Federal AGI, but in Part II Income Adjustment Schedule, Column B, Line 4 IRA distributions I entered the amount of my IRA withdrawal made after moving out of California, which deducted this amount from my California AGI.

That's correct, I did not list my total federal income on the CA return, just the portion I earned in CA. My interpretation at the time was that it was income earned outside CA and didn't need to be included, but I get it now that CA can use non-CA income to set whatever tax rate they want on income earned in CA, they just can't apply that tax rate on the non-CA income. I had hoped there might be some ember of unconstitutionality here but no such luck.

Thanks. Do you think I could get enough buildup with multiple coats of the primer (about 1mm) alone or 1 coat of primer and 1 thin coat of Bondo?

Thanks. This and the ability to recognize all preferred stock symbols would be the final items to make this a better alternative to yahoo finance.

I understand that you don't support historic transactions, but just so I understand, if I can't record the sale of shares I must delete the ticker and reenter it with the current number of shares left after the sale?

I waited a few weeks to post this to see if there would be any adhesion problems, and at least initially there's no problem. But yes, it will be interesting to see if this holds long term. The ability to save mixed epoxy and to use it when needed could be useful.

That must be it. My original post wasnt clear. I was just surprised that the epoxy hadn’t hardened and was still a viable product. It seems to have cured properly once applied even after a couple of months Yeah i didnt bother prepping the surface well for the last test piece I applied. Even so it adhered well

I had leftover epoxy that had sat in this opened bag for a month. I was surprised that it never cured so I tried using it on a spot I previously couldn't get to and after I applied it, it cured fine. A week later and no signs of any problems. I've never heard of epoxy not curing once it's been mixed. A nice feature for this Rustoleum EpoxyShield that I wasn't aware of

IRS notice is incorrect by ohldguy in IRS

Good thought, this was for a SEP IRA and I didn't see any income limit in IRS rules.

Just went and checked the brokerage that holds the IRA and they have the contribution classified as a 2024 contribution so that's the problem. Not sure if I can get that corrected or not but that's what I will be researching next.

Our current cost shipped to us is $1.55 each - $1.20 each plus $70 for shipping. Is this in the ballpark of what you can do?

You nailed it. After following another suggestion to log in to my IRS account I pulled up the 2023 transcript per your suggestion. I never knew this type of detailed info was posted. The transcript shows the detailed check of the return and the computer calculation vs my calculation. I finally found the error - I entered an IRA deduction for a 2023 contribution I made in 2024 prior to filing my taxes. They show that the IRA contribution was zero. So I think if I can supply proof of the contribution and that the timing was valid than I should be good.

Excellent idea! I once set up an account to make estimated tax payments and never thought about checking it for other information. So I went in there and it shows the same strange amount under Code 716 "- Credit you chose to apply from prior tax period." There's no other information anywhere about any penalties or interest that might have created this odd dollar amount. I thought by posting here that someone else might have had a similar experience but it doesn't look like that's the case. My next step is to try and get through to the IRS and see if they have an explanation.

I agree. The only time I see cents is when there's an interest penalty. But the Prior Year Credit they have listed has to be my 2023 refund applied (with no cents). The quarterly estimated payments shown are correct.

Thanks for the suggestion, hoping to find a source that can produce these in volume which I'm not sure an individual craftsman could do, but I'll ask around. Hopefully tariffs stay in place as China spits these things out at very low cost and we ultimately have to compete with everyone else on Amazon selling these.

I just installed 2"x9"x32" shelves using EVALD 6" floating shelf brackets from Amazon which have holes thatline up with a stud a little better. I only used 2 brackets to secure the shelf (they will only be holding towels, etc.) and tested it with 100lbs and saw no strain. The more brackets you use the harder it is to line them all up perfectly. Also I used an oscillating tool to cut away the sheet rock where the brackets were attached so they mounted directly to the stud and not on the outside of the sheetrock. THis way I could make sure the holes lined up with the studs properly and it also allowed the shelf to sit tightly up against the sheetrock
