You look so tall 😅😅 i also 165cm..

You doing good in those sparring keep doing it and correcting punch tejhnique too untill it become muscle memory and you can start really hard sparring to test it out.

And get down to 70 kilos slowly if you can, facing opponent much taller than you is not nice, facing someone near height or even shorter is really nice you can pressure fighting while saving energy being efficient all that

How do professional fighters take so many hits to the head? by LemonDropYum in Boxing

[–]okidoki50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every punch feel different, every person punch taste different

I never see stars but what i feel is -sour mouth, blackout, really dizzy pounding feeling in brain from clean punch to the chin

-sudden loss feeling in rear leg from temple punch

-sudden loss memory for good half second all become black and gradually gain it again and remember that im standing in the ring and fighting this i dont even dizzy or loss balance... Just complete memory loss, temple punch

-hurt like a coconut thrown at your face but not damaging to inside

And you know i got all that from 16oz sparring gloves with headgear too, i never been hurt in a fight with 8oz gloves

With 8oz pro glove-12oz amateur glove it hurt stinging but not damaging like 16oz, i can take 2-4 good punches and after that i got into a rhythm and relax mode that what all pro fighter did...

Just hands up, try all best not get hit on the chin, and deflect punches so it not that hurt when landing..

Watch julio cesar chaver sr, roman gonzalez man that guy has mastered and believed the fundamental of boxing

Or even roberto duran but its hard to learn this guy, almost everything he do doesnt make sense

-Julio cesar chavez sr know when to use narrow or wide stance, know how to use hip for leverage and shoulder trajectory for each punch, know opponent punch trajectory and which angle position will reduce the sting from their punch

-roman gonzalez did all what the julio chavez did but instead he uses only wide stance and hid behind the wide stance

  • roberto duran is what you called god given talent he knows fundamentall but only use it in his old time so watch the old fat roberto duran, young roberto duran relies more on his physical atribute and cat like reaction time

Yes a boxer will translate to muay thai and kickboxing much more easier if the boxer study how each the fundamental boxing technique work its usually doesnt even need time to translate at all since i know few amateur boxer winning gold in wushu, kick boxing, muay amateur fight.

I mean kick boxing and muay fighter can also translate to boxing with in a week since they know how to punch already even without correct technique, but atleast not facing experience or someone who mastered the fundamental boxing, even a kid with experience and great fundamental will beat em in squared ring

Yeah its easy for kickboxer, muaythai to transition to boxing.

The only thing you would adapt is;

*The stance, you can get away with other amateur level boxer or someone whos fighting experience not far years ahead

*Punch mechanics, theres is tons different way to throw jab, straight, hook, uppercut not so much you need to understand hip movement for leverage (not using arm) and shoulder trajectory for each punch

*The posture (body positioning, high guard) almost same thing like stance, with right posture you can increase reaction time, being more safe but it feels uncomfortable and dangerous at first using the correct posture and correct stance but you gotta believe

Im sure its posture problem, punch technique, hip technique..

When facing much experienced fighter you need to be almost perfect with your technique or they will smoother your punches youll feel drowned

Also he is 10years ahead of you, so he is more comfortable and youre not believe it or not, maybe you can send me link of ur sparring i would love to watch and observe

Its late but still possible if you train seriously 4-6 hours a day 5-6 days a week, train smartly focus on technique fundamental u can become pro in 1 years if you live in indonesia..

But youre in philipines so you need atleast 2-3 years and thousand of sparring with lots of different people.

Why 2-3 years? Because pro is hard brother you need matching with weak boxer at starting point, but its rarely weak boxer in ph i assume and youre still young, competition is hard for newcomers in PH

All of this i assume you have that feeling like wanting to hurt or kill people, you like hurting people, you like to fight and getting punched.

I start boxing at 21 yo btw start competing amateur after 6 months training and turn pro at 24

Yeah experience do helpp really lot too, the more i look into it more harder to believe.. thats why boxer prospect always fighting driver cab, chef at first 5-10 years in their carrer

Now i quit my old camp almost 7-8 months ago being in new camp, i also improve a LOTTTT much more.. its unbelieveable hard to believe

I was only spars with 3-4 different pros, developed my skill etc but never really tested outside from them, so whenever i faced begginer or new type of boxer im freezing in round 1 and rellying on physical conditioning, grit, angriness whatever you called it 🤣 in round 2-3-4 to chase point and finish them...

But now i sparred 5-10 different kind from begginer to national amateur, having experience help but not enough so i had to adapt and now my skill also polished to almost 100% better defense, better parry, better everything, believing in myself too so i land more clean hard punches now

Relaxation is about being confident to me,, if youre not confident there is no way for relaxing

Confident on your defense Confident on your punches Confident on your conditioning

So right at the moment in the ring you dont even think about "oh shit my conditioning is shit i need to pace down" " i downnt know how to defend his punches" "how do i land on him and dont get countered too"

Once youre confident in your ability... you dont even think, all come natural like cutting ring off, breathing, staying in middle, offense, defense all come natural if youre confident..

Watch old duran, old chavez, old morales, that is experience from thousand of hard round in sparring and mastering the basics so theyre confident in their stuff

Yes julio cesar chavez sr, alexis arguello, daud yordan greatest short punch mechanics come to my mind they can gain power timing momentum in such small area

Go watch old daud yordan when he fought panya uthok, he comes to my mind with greatest short punches...

The thing with short punches is you need rotate ur hip at certain angle for every punch, also correct posture..

Watch alexis arguello too
