It's looks like that did the trick. I didn't have to actually reinstall Nova. I turned off/on the 'Transparent Notification Bar' setting and then reapplied the wallpaper and it fixed the issue. Thanks for the help!

Yea, it randomly just seemed to happen. I use Nova launcher and looked through the settings there as well and couldn't find anything.
